    1.XPath in Selenium is an XML path used for navigation through the HTML structure of the page. It is a syntax or language for finding any element on a web page using XML path expression. XPath can be used for both HTML and XML documents to find the location of any element on a webpage using HTML DOM structure.

    2.CSS selectors perform far better than Xpath and it is well documented in Selenium community


    3.Both xpath and css are one the most frequently used locators in Selenium. Css allows only one directional flow which means the traversal is from parent to child only. Xpath is slower in terms of performance and speed. Css has better performance and speed than xpath
