This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
1,495 performance review tools in one course: 1,140 ready-to-use files, forms, scripts and rubrics, 34 services and apps shown on screen, plus 321 models and methods.
Open a lecture, take the tool, use it in this cycle's review preparation, conversation or pay decision.
Why reviews produce forms and no change
The review comes round, managers fill in the form the night before, the conversation takes twenty minutes, and the rating depends on who is rating. The employee leaves without knowing what to do differently. HR collects the forms, and nothing in them changes pay, development or the next goals. Six months later it happens again, and people trust the process a little less.
What changes after this course
Each part of the review gets a format that works. A preparation checklist for both sides. Questions that make the conversation about evidence. Rubrics that make ratings comparable between managers. A form people can finish in an hour. A matrix that turns the result into a pay decision, and a plan that turns it into development. KPI and OKR formats for the goals that come next.
What is inside: 1,495 tools, counted file by file
You do not have to take this number on trust. Open any lecture and read its description: every tool inside is listed there by name.
Where the tools are
Who is teaching
I am Mike, the #1 HR instructor on Udemy, with 1,800,000+ course enrollments from 170,000 students, and the author of about 200 books on Amazon. I built the people system at Preply as it became a unicorn and worked at Wargaming, iDeals and Alfa-Bank across 20 years in HR. I hold PHRi, SHRM-CP and HCI sHRBP certifications and represent HRCI in Eastern Europe.
I first experienced performance appraisal as a structured conversation about results and future plans. At Alfa-Bank, we completed a questionnaire covering the year’s results and our plans for the following year, then met with a manager to discuss those plans. We worked in annual cycles. Later, at iDeals, I developed a corporate competency model, providing a set of competencies at the level of the whole organisation. This experience informs the appraisal tools in this course.
How to use the course
Start with the four core sections: they follow a review from preparation to decisions. Then treat the rest as a reference library. Section and lecture titles show how many tools are inside, and each lecture description lists them by name, so you can find the right tool before the conversation you are preparing for.
What is included
Where to start
Take the next review in your calendar. Open the third section, use the preparation checklist and the discussion questions, and run that one conversation with a structure. Managers who review with evidence are trusted with their ratings, and every review done on the night before costs you the confidence of the person reviewed. Enrol now and start your first lesson today.
