Download and install VMware Player to set up a virtualization lab, selecting Windows, Linux, or Mac, launching the setup, and restarting the system for the latest version.
Download the ISOs of Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2022. Save them to the ISOs folder and create installation media with an ISO maker.
Set up Windows Server 2022 and 2019 via virtual machines, select the desktop experience GUI over core version, and install VMware Tools while reviewing VMware, Hyper-V, and VirtualBox.
Enable Hyper-V on Windows via control panel, then restart and open Hyper-V to manage virtual machines, such as VirtualBox or VMware; note that home editions may not support Hyper-V.
Set up Windows 10 and 11 in VirtualBox with 8 GB RAM and 2 CPUs from ISO, fix kernel errors by installing VirtualBox driver, starting VBox service, and guest additions.
Change computer names on the server and clients, set static IP addresses, configure DNS and default gateway, and prepare for Active Directory installation.
