Here is your first slow waltz figure. Officially it is called "Closed Change from Right to Left" but we'll be more familiar and call it the Box Step with the Right Foot. The basic rule behind this step is that you go forward on your right, and backward on your left.
It's time to practice with music. Hit play and follow our counts.
You might find it a bit confusing to now practice the Box Step on the opposite side, but keep practicing. It will improve your coordination. We will guide you along the way.
Still practicing our solo technique, but this time with the music.
It's time now to go into couples. First, you have to learn how to hold your partner.
Once you've mastered the box step on your own, you can go into couple. Pay attention as we will give you tips on how to make this look effortless.

We are switching sides and practicing our Box Step with the Left Foot. Remember: left foot goes forward, right foot goes backward.
Waltzing is all about moving around the dance floor and turning. Here is an introduction to the Natural Turn, or the Right Turn. You will see how easy it is.
First we are going to practice with the music individually.
Now let's practice the Reverse Turn, or the Left Turn. It's exactly the opposite to the Right Turn. You will also see how similar these figures are to the Box Step.

It's time to put everything that we've learned into a choreography. This will allow you to move around the dance floor. After we explain the movements we will practice together on the counts.
