Adding custom component path in user.ini file will import the custom components automatically when new project is started. It is advisable to set up a path, otherwise you need to import them one by one in each project.
To maintain your previous settings when you switch over to next version, you need to copy the variables from previous version to current version. In this lesson, you will learn how to do it

When you copy the variables, the value has to be with open %% and close with %% double percentage, Whereas in advanced option you will open and close with % single percentage.
