It's super hard to succeed at competitive chess. It takes good playing habits, concrete knowledge, right mindset, and personal qualities like resilience and fighting spirit. This course aims to guide you through these skills, giving you a master-level understanding of how to navigate your positions. If you often get frustrated by blowing big advantages in your games, or if you tend to resign mentally once your position starts going downhill, this course is for you. I made these videos longer so every topic gets explained with a few examples, and you have several chances to guess the moves played, thus testing what you've learned.
This course is divided into 5 sections: Defense, Calculation, Endgame Skills, Strategical Understanding, and Advanced Opening Setups. In regards to the openings, I chose systems for white and black that you can play at any level, from 1200 blitz games to World Championship matches. Instead of going in depth into their theory, I showed where the pieces belong in such setups and what's the spirit of the opening, using exemplary games played either by me or famous grandmasters. So instead of memorizing a bunch of lines that you'll probably forget by your next tournament, you will have some knowledge of the opening's strategical underpinnings. You'll be able to try it for yourself and choose the lines that work best for you.
Not everyone is meant to be a chess grandmaster, but if you shoot for the stars, you may reach the moon, so I hope this course gets you to the highest pinnacle of your chess potential. Good luck!
