From Weather to Whisk
I am Kar Lin, a full-time baker at a Japanese bakery in Singapore. But before that, I was an aviation meteorologist. Over the years, I gradually transition my 9-year weather forecasting career to become a full-time baker, after going through a formal pastry chef training at At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy.
Experimenting with recipes and creating unique flavour combinations are my passion, and therefore, I would love to share my experiences with you through words, pictures and videos.
In 2018, I participated in the Singapore Bake-A-Star Championship, Cake Category, organised by the Singapore Bakery and Confectionary Trade Association (SBCTA), and I came in as the 2nd Runner Up for that competition.
I believe this is God’s calling for my life — to create, to share and to bring joy.
From being a meteorologist to a baker, it is not an easy transition, but I remember His Word:
“Don’t be afraid, just believe!”
And so, I carry on, carrying faith.
