You have just joined “FineFoods Distribution Pvt Ltd” as a Junior Functional Consultant.
Your manager has given you a Business Central sandbox environment and asked you to explore its basic structure, navigation, and modules before you start configuration.
? Exercise Steps
1. Sign in and Explore Role Center
Log in to Business Central (https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/) using your credentials.
Identify the Role Center name on your homepage (e.g., Business Manager, Accountant, Sales Order Processor).
Note the key sections on the screen:
Navigation bar (Home, Finance, Sales, Purchasing, etc.)
Action bar (New, Edit, Process, Report)
Activities and Cues (KPIs, Tiles)
Insights (Power BI visuals if available)
✅ Validation:
Write down your Role Center name and list three major actions you can perform from the homepage.
2. Search and Navigate
Use the ? Tell Me (Search) bar at the top.
Search for and open:
Chart of Accounts
Customers
Vendors
Items
Explore the list pages — note columns, filters, and available actions.
✅ Validation:
List the total number of records in each of the above pages.
3. Explore Modules
From the Navigation pane, explore the following modules:
Finance
Sales
Purchasing
Inventory
For each module, note down at least two major tasks or pages.

Finance → Chart of Accounts, General Journals
Sales → Sales Orders, Posted Invoices
4. Personalize Your Role Center
Click the ⚙️ Settings (Gear icon) → Personalize.
Add a frequently used tile (e.g., “Customers”) to your homepage.
Rearrange sections or hide any unwanted tiles.

Screenshot or describe your new Role Center layout.
5. Check Company Information
Use Tell Me → search for Company Information.
Review fields like Company Name, Address, Phone No., and Country/Region.
Change the logo (if allowed in sandbox).
✅ Validation:
Confirm company name and country displayed in your environment.
6. Bonus (Optional)
Switch Role Center:
⚙️ Settings → My Settings → Role → change to Accountant or Sales Order Processor.
