PLEASE READ: Self defense is something I take seriously for everyone’s sake. That being said there is only one kick in this course due to it being beginner. A lot of kicks are not practical in a life or death situation, and or a sexual assault situation. There is also no punching with the knuckles in this course because that is a perfect way to break your hand and there is just no need for that. They are so many strikes that’s not with the knuckles that will land harder, hurt harder, and protect your bones! Enjoy the course and please message me for any questions or if you would like feedback into your training.
Key points here is to make sure your arm is slanted for later courses. Let’s not create bad habits to break now. Also make sure you don’t go too close to your face or way above your head. Finish the rotation and the point that contact would be made.
While this is situational it’s a great technique to know. If you can block with one hand your free with the other while pulling the wrist you grabbed thus making the impact like a car cash. This is forcefully bringing them into your oncoming attack.
Key points is to make sure your hands are tilted away from you when finishing the block. ALSO very IMPORTANT to not go to far past your shoulders or it could be disaster and we don’t want that. You also can’t just block you must attack. This is an online one time payment training course. Train atleast 2 times a week. And when feeling comfortable start mixing blocks with attacks so you get your body used to reacting after a block.
Palm cups the ear… fingers wrapped around your head. Squeeze your bi-cep and forearm together to make a tight block. Keep your temple covered but make sure you can see at all times.
Master the outside block from a natural position, rotating your hips, parry with palms out, use the windshield wiper forearm strike, and stay with hands up for defense.
Learn to perform side palm strikes that double as blocks, using a tilted wrist, bent elbow, and hip rotation to power center line blocks and vital spots.
Master the straight palm strike to defend yourself, using a centered, controlled palm hit to the nose from the center line, with a slightly bent elbow for proper alignment.
Upward palms are super close range and your aiming for the tip of the nose and or under the chin.
Learn the double monkey thumbs technique for close-quarters self-defense, striking the eyes, then grabbing hair or ears to pull and push as you advance toward safety.
The neck is a fine place to aim especially if light sparring with someone else. Ideally you want to hit right on the jaw line. That’s the vital spot besides the Adams apple
V jab is going to the eyes. Keep in mind you might break your fingers if you miss. Make sure your fingers are slightly bent and not full on straight or they will break.
Aiming under the chin or the tip of the nose.
Aiming for the temple, jaw line or side swiping the nose. Don’t forget to go over then down at an angle with this. Adding way more power
Aiming for the tip of the chin, the temple or the side of the nose. This elbow will easily slice open someone’s eye and or eye brow as well. But that’s not lethal. We want to finish and get out.
Learn the flick kick in Kori no ryu self defense basics, using the shin to strike the groin with a knee flick, keeping toes down and avoiding high head kicks.
