Description

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations require employers to ensure that all employees are appropriately trained and competent to carry out manual handling activities safely.

Manual handling accidents account for more than one-third of all workplace accidents reported each year to the relevant enforcing authorities. It is estimated that more than 500,000 people across Great Britain suffer from a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD), primarily affecting the upper limbs or neck, that has been caused or made worse by their current or previous work.

This comprehensive Manual Handling Training Course provides organisations and employees with the essential knowledge and practical guidance needed to understand the risks associated with moving and handling goods and people.

Learners will explore safe handling principles, legal responsibilities, common causes of injury, the importance of protecting the back, and the correct procedures to follow before carrying out any manual handling task.

The course also explains how to undertake an effective manual handling risk assessment, identify potential hazards, evaluate individual and environmental factors, and ensure that appropriate control measures, equipment and safe systems of work are put in place.
