Today’s workshop is focused on developing an important skill; one that often does not get the attention that it deserves and can sometimes be overlooked and that is how to manage your manager. Often, leadership workshops focus on how to manage others, meaning how to manage and lead those that you directly supervise however this also equally applies to managing your supervisor, managing “up”. How to manage your boss is a skill regardless of the relationship that you have or effective your boss is at doing their job. Your effectiveness can be a direct result of how you “manage up”. This course will help you:

I have worked in the social service sector for the past 25 years. I have been honored to work with children, youth and their families who were dealing with serious and complex emotional and behavioral challenges. I began my career in the human service field providing direct care and counseling to clients and eventually managed and had oversight of several treatment facilities and programs. Additionally, I have 15+ years of experience as a human resource manager focusing on developing curriculums and conducting a host of trainings, extensive experience in staff development, building teams, facilitating and developing strategic plans, and providing coaching and mentoring to managers and leaders to support their professional growth and development. I am an effective facilitator with proven public speaking skills. My background includes:
M.M. in Organizational Development, Professional Certified Coach, Certified Behavioral Consultant

My educational background includes a Bachelor's of Science from Lesley College in Human Services and Counseling and a Master's Degree in Management from Cambridge College specializing in Organizational Development.
