Welcome to our first lesson on the meaning of integers and integer arithmetic rules for multiplying and dividing integers.
After you watch the video, try the questions in the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 2! This is going to continue with the integer arithmetic you started in the last lesson. This time we'll look at rules for adding and subtracting integers as well as look at word problems for integers.
Remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After you finish watching the lesson, try the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 3! Last lesson we talked about integers. This time we're looking at more categories of real numbers: rational & irrational numbers.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After you watch the lesson, try the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 4! We're going to be comparing and ordering real numbers by using their decimal form.

After watching the lesson, try the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 5 on the order of operations. In this lesson I highlight some of the sticking points that come up with order of operations in Algebra 1 problems - so you can try to avoid those common mistakes.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After watching, try the practice quiz. Make sure to write the problems out showing your work for each step and thinking about the order.
Welcome to lesson 6! We're going to continue on what we did in the previous lesson and get comfortable with applying GEMDAS to some longer problems.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After you watch the lesson, try the quiz (making sure to write out each step)!
Welcome to lesson 7! We're going to take a look at some of the common keywords that will come up in Algebra 1 word problems and use them to translate from written expressions to Algebraic expressions.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After reviewing the lesson, try the practice quiz to check your understanding!
Welcome to lesson 8! Last lesson we looked at how to translate variable expressions based on keywords. In this lesson, we are going to take that one step further to look at context (situational) clues that you will see in word problems. This is an important skill to develop for Algebra 1 since you will be seeing word problems across many topics of different types of equations, inequalities, and systems of equations.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After watching the lesson try the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 9 on substitution! We will be taking a look at how to use substitution to evaluate an expression for a given value. This will combine some of the skills we learned in the last few lessons on using order of operations.
Substitution is a skill that will keep coming up throughout Algebra 1 and beyond, so take your time and make sure you understand the concept. As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After watching the lesson take the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 10 on substitution word problems! This will combine some of the skills we learned in the last few lessons using order of operations, and substitution, as well as translating variable expressions.
When you are finished, try the practice quiz to test your understanding!
Welcome to lesson 11 on Combining Like Terms! Combining like terms is important to have down because it will come up within larger problems for expressions and equations throughout Algebra 1.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
Like always, there is a practice quiz and answer key for you to take after watching the lesson.
Welcome to lesson 12 on Distributive Property! Take your time as you go through because distributive property will come up throughout Algebra 1. The biggest thing to keep in mind here is the rules for multiplying with positive and negative integers!
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
After watching the lesson, try the practice quiz!
Welcome to lesson 13 on Simplifying Algebraic Expressions! This lesson is going to combine many of the skills we have already reviewed including integer arithmetic, order of operations, combining like terms, and using the distributive property.
As with all lessons, remember you can pause & rewind the video as needed to take your notes and make sure you understand everything. So take advantage of the online learning format to learn at YOUR pace.
When you finish watching the lesson, take the practice quiz. Really take your time to show your work going step by step since these are longer problems.
This lesson reviews the properties of Algebra. We have already used some of these properties in previous lessons, but now we are putting the Algebra vocabulary to what you have done.
This is a complete Algebra 1 course. It's aligned to the Common Core State Standards, so it is appropriate for students in any Common Core state. It is also specifically aligned to the Pennsylvania Keystone Exam Standards (and has open-ended response items to help prepare for that as well). While these are helpful ways to practice with showing thought process for any student, it is particularly useful for PA students to get used to the open-ended formats and types of questions seen on the Keystone Exam.
Use this course to learn, re-learn, or improve Algebra skills. It's meant to Make Algebra Easy! Or at least easier.
Each topic includes a video lesson & practice "quiz" with answer explanations.
The idea is for you to start by watching the lesson. Then try the practice quiz to test your understanding. Then visit the annotated answer key to see the detailed work for any questions that you were not sure about.
