
An introduction to the course. Students will learn that the course is designed to help them practice better and have fun doing so. Students will learn about the teacher and learn that mastering the art of practising is an essential component to them reaching their full potential as singers. Students will learn what to expect in the other lectures of the course and they will be introduced to the concept of completing a project as part of the course.
Students will be given the opportunity to complete a project as part of the course. This is in the form of a short term goal, where they will learn and practice a song of their choice over the course of 4 weeks. From the lecture students will learn to follow a thorough format of focal points to work on for each week.
Students will view a demonstration on how to approach learning a practising the song 'Happy Birthday'. They will learn how to approach learning and practising rhythms, notes, dynamics, facial expressions and body language and techniques - including classical and pop singing styles.
Students will learn what equipment they will ideally have when practising their singing and they will learn why and how these items are helpful; they will learn how to use the items to their best advantage.
Students will learn the ideal environment that they ought to be in when practising their singing, and how to adapt their practice room to suit their style of singing and level of singing. They will also learn about alternative environments if the optimum environment is not accessible to them.
Students will learn about the 3 different Singing Practice methods - Distraction practice, Focussed Practice and Brain Practice. They will learn how to do each method and what the advantages and disadvantages of each method are depending on what level they're at with their singing, what type of song they're learning, and also their own personality.
Students will learn the traits of 6 different personality types of Practisers. They will learn how to use the characteristics of each type to their advantage when practising and how important it is to plan their practice sessions.
Students will learn how important it is to have clear goals before practising. They will learn about Short term, Long term and Ultimate goals. They will receive advice on setting goals and how to reach them.
Students will learn quick and easy tips on how to make the most of their singing practice. They will learn how the type of practise they should do will change as they get closer to the completion of their goals.
An outro for the course. Students will receive a summary of what they have learnt.
