Hi!
Welcome to this unique Lumion course titled: Lumion: The Hidden Secrets to Amazing Photorealistic Renders. (Video)
My name is Jibola Oladiran, but you may call me Prof; that’s what my friends, colleagues and students call me. I’ll be your pilot during this amazing journey to unlocking those secrets for getting the best photorealistic renders in Lumion.
I started my own journey just about five years ago, and between then and now I’ve been able to discover these little-known secrets to produce mind-blowing 3D scene images, videos and even short films. And every single day, I seem to discover something new.
My job during this course will be to take you deep into Lumion to unearth some basic features which most users don’t even know exist and try to get you to learn to navigate the program easily and in fun ways. You’ll be strolling around the program environment in no time, creating simply stunning results which would wow your clients, colleagues, bosses and friends. And competitors will be wondering how you know so much. All of this can be achieved by following this course step by step until you’re ready to fly on your own.
This Lumion course is for absolute beginners who want to kickstart a career in 3D Visualization, as well as those who are already using it but need to understand it better to create mind-blowing renders.
So follow me on this amazing journey to discover these well-hidden secrets and begin to create stunning 3d renders in no time at all.
The program Lumion is a very wide one. There are ways however of understanding the program by taking a systemic approach to understanding the interface and the other hidden features. This course is designed to help you see what most people do not, and by so doing make you have greater control of the assets and other features to your advantage.
The course will:
Take you through the Lumion interface so you can get accustomed to the work area
Show you how to locate the props and assets for scene creation and compositing
Explain to you how to set up lights in your scenes
Show you how to import trees, vehicles, human characters, rocks, furniture, fire, water bodies, birds and other assets to make your scene look photorealistic and believable
Finally, the course will take you through the process of setting the right render settings for different situations.
You will be given exercises to try your hand at creating your own project and you will get feedback to make sure that your progress is properly monitored and graded.
By the end of this lecture, you should be able to understand the final deliverables expected from taking the course. You should be able to know what 3D visualization is and what quality of renders are expected of you. You should also be able to decide what style of renders you want to be known for. Finally, you should be able to understand that diving deep into the interface and unlocking all the packages of Lumion are required tasks to make the best of the program and have the most qualitative results.
By the end of this lecture, you should be able to successfully Launch Lumion and get it going.
By the end of this lecture, you should be able to understand the Lumion User Interface, moving from one feature to the other and knowing how to access them for use within the program. You should be comfortable flying around within the interface, clicking on one feature after the other fully knowing what each is meant for.
You should be able to move around within the workspace. Moving left to right, up and down as well as to and fro within the workspace should be a priority. You will be able to use the A, S, D, F, Q, W, E keys as your go-to keys to get around the scene efficiently. Also you will be able to use the Right Mouse button and Scroll-wheel button to complement the keyboard movements. You will also be able to use the Zoom in and Zoom Out navigation using your mouse Scroll-Wheel. You should be able to practice these movements properly to be able to navigate around your future scenes without difficulty. Navigation around the scene should become second nature.
You should be able to move objects around the scene easily. Vertical and Horizontal movements of objects should become quite easy. Rotating objects along different axis should also be understood. You should be able to scale objects up and down.
By the end of this lecture you should understand that Lumion has a very clean and understandable interface which can be easily and quickly reached. It has many features, but they have been packaged in neat ways for easy and clear reach. You should be able to access each of them easily.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to understand how you can move around your model. You can combine two or more navigation controls to be able to have more efficient navigation around the model and the scene. You will also have an idea what the Farnsworth house is really like.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to navigate around the Nature library to pick trees, plants, rocks and other elements of nature to include in your scene.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to navigate around the People and Animals library to pick male and female adult and children characters to include in your scene. As they come in stationery, idle and animated formats it’s an enormous library to take advantage of.

By the end of this lecture you should be able to navigate around the Effects library to pick such effects as fountains, fire, particle emission and other sundry effects; you will also be able to adjust and customize size and colour to your taste.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to set up landscape that includes solid ground and different types of water bodies in your scenes.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to set up Sun and Weather settings to be able to create and adjust a mood, ambience and time of day for your scene.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to know what is needed to populate a scene and make it look realistic.
I’m sure it’s been a whirlwind with various features and props and effects to navigate through. That’s what Lumion really is. It’s like a toy box with so many toys that you don’t know which to play with at a time. You’re already playing with this one, then you see another, then another, and then another. It’s like an onion skin. You keep peeling off layers. But I want to believe that in this first section you’ve been able to develop a process in your mind or in your notes about how to access all these features. It takes practice to find them at will or on-demand, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be flying.
Try to do the exercises provided so you can confidently know that you’re making real-time progress. It’s important to get your hands dirty with these simple exercises to give you muscle and brain memory while performing mundane and repetitive tasks. It’s a part of the process. Don’t worry, the lag and confusion you will face at times while navigating is normal. But remember that it is your journey, and only you can understand your own navigation methods. Just make sure that you understand how to navigate. THIS IS IMPORTANT. And this is one of the major secrets to unlocking the best in Lumion. Learn to navigate.
In this section we’ll be learning:
How to import a model
How to set up the model
How to study the model
How to transform the model

By the end of this lecture you should be able to know what is expected to make a scene come to life. You will be able to create an inventory of the assets, sun and render settings as well as effects to prepare for to bring a scene to life.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to successfully import a model into Lumion.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to set up an imported model, adjusting it to conform to the scene in scale and orientation. You would be able to know whether an imported model is too big or too small and adjust the size as necessary.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to study the imported model to know how you want it to fit into the environment you plan to set it in. You would be able to understand the use of the model and figure out the best way to make it look organic in the scene you plan to create.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to adjust the sun settings to suit what you want to achieve when you render. You may want a daytime scene or a nighttime scene. When you’re done with this lecture, you will be able to set the sun settings for the best render results.
By the end of this lecture you should be able to start assigning materials and textures to models and parts of the models. You will be able to get the foundation for not just assigning materials and textures, but customizing them to suit your peculiar needs as a designer and visualizer.

Use the right props and assets to bring their 3D scenes to life and make them look interesting
Produce the most breathtaking photorealistic renders using secret settings most people don't know about
Know which secret render settings best suit different world regions and times of the day
Understand how to adjust render settings to suit interior renders and exterior renders
Because most courses want to teach the rendering techniques only, they ignore first of all taking the learners through the assets, materials and effects library. This course however takes the learners through the process of knowing where each of these features may be found, making them better positioned to find these items and use them creatively when and how needed.
As the title of the course suggests, what the course tackles are secrets that the best visualizers do not usually share. With a successful completion of the course, the learner would know, understand and be able to employ these secrets to unravel difficult and challenging projects, and in the process win the trust and admiration of the clients and colleagues as they churn the best photorealistic renders one after the other.
