Anyone studying for the LSAT should start by signing up to use the free preparation tools at lawhub.lsac.org that include lessons, drill sets, and practice tests. However, research shows that taking full practice tests is the most effective way to prepare for the LSAT and should be a cornerstone of your study plan.

The current LSAT is taken on a computer, either remotely or in a testing center, and there are a variety of ways to use the online interface to increase your chances of answering the questions correctly, such as: ruling out answers, highlighting passages, setting screen preferences, and more. By watching the videos in this course, you will not only learn the reading comprehension, logic, critical thinking, and test-taking skills necessary to succeed on the LSAT, you will most importantly learn how to most effectively and efficiently use the online interface to boost your performance.

The videos in this course explain how to answer each and every question in LSAT practice test 158 which contains one scored Reading Comprehension section, two scored Logical Reasoning sections, and a third experimental Logical Reasoning section with no logic games section. Every explanation provides instruction on how to solve the individual question task of the problem as well as identifying discrete reasons to eliminate each incorrect option in the answer choices.

  • Create an account at the LSAC Lawhub to gain access to the full LSAT PrepTest 158

Description

In this LSAT video review course MyGuru's Director of Instruction, Stefan Maisnier, an expert with more than a decade of LSAT tutoring experience, demonstrates how to engage and address each individual question from LSAT PrepTest 158, one of four official practice tests available for free at the Lawhub resource offered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) which administers the LSAT. PrepTest 158 is in the current LSAT format and is comprised of only two scored Logical Reasoning sections, one unscored Logical Reasoning section, and one scored Reading Comprehension section now that the Logic Games section has been retired as of June 2024. These sections come from the previously identified PrepTest 90 (Sections 1, 2 and 4) and PrepTest 91 (Section 3).  Before viewing any explanations in this course, you should complete PrepTest 158 using the official digital interface at provided at Lawhub, but you can watch the introduction to this course first for instructions on how to maximize your practice at the Lawhub using blind test review.

In each of the Logical Reasoning explanation videos, Stefan discusses how to use logic and critical thinking to predict what correct answers should broadly do to accomplish the question task or use the highlighting tools to track facts for valid inferences without wasting time by engaging scratch paper to diagram conditional logic. As for Reading Comprehension, four passage up-front read videos illustrate how to use the highlighting tools provided by the official exam interface to force engagement and understanding of the obscure content that the LSAT features before individual videos for every question demonstrate how to effectively engage with each individual Reading Comprehension question task. We also explain how to use the highlighting tools to focus not only on why the correct answer matches the construct of each scenario, but why each incorrect answer is definitely wrong to encourage a high level of accuracy on future practice exams and the official LSAT.

This course is an unparalleled feedback tool to help you identify what you did wrong when you missed a question, and/or how to more efficiently and effectively approach questions that you may have actually answered correctly. It is not a replacement for LSAT prep materials from LawHub or other test prep providers, but it is a valuable, low-cost way to get video instruction on how to approach actual LSAT problems in the online platform you'll be using when you take the actual LSAT.

Who this course is for:

  • Law school candidates studying for the LSAT in 2024 and beyond
  • LSAT test preppers seeking to learn how to engage with the exam digitally rather than using old techniques requiring pencil and paper
