Cheat days are fairly simple in concept, but they do take a little bit of planning and strategy to make sure that you prevent gaining while you are binging and intentionally overloading your metabolism.

Here are the tips that you can use when going into your cheat day.

  1. Eat a healthy breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning. Make sure you have 20-30 grams of protein and some healthy fiber so that you don't have trouble passing your cheat day foods through your digestive system.
  2. Have a brief, low intensity resistance workout on your cheat day. Workout for 25-35 minutes on your cheat day using major muscle group exercises with either your own body weight, resistance bands, or weights in the gym. This workout will make sure that you are shuttling all of your poor cheat day calories toward your muscle fibers, and away from your belly and fat stores.
  3. Throughout the week, keep a list of all of the foods and drinks that you are craving. I like to keep a notepad on my phone throughout the week of all of the foods and drinks that sound great to me so that I can go grocery shopping the night before my cheat day. Then you will be ready to go the next morning. To help you get started with your list, here are some of the foods that I enjoy the most
