Description

We will explore the soft and translucent beauty of watercolors while creating these loose hyacinths. We will begin with setting up our space for the easiest, stress free painting space. In the first section we will create our hyacinth.  If you feel more comfortable tracing an outline of the flowers on first feel free to do so.  Just refer to the first lesson on how to trace an outline onto your watercolor paper.  We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with and why it is important.  We will learn to create hard and soft edges to define the flowers. We will learn about how to use shading and hi-lighting.  This is most important in the flowers as they are the focal poin of the painting.   A gentle tapping technique will be used to create the petals of the flowers.  We will learn to blend colors and add extra paint in areas to get our painting to pop.  After the flowers are looking nice we will take a short break and then begin to work on the leaves and stems.  No worries, as these will be much easier and quicker to create.  They require much less detail, and we will discuss why this is the case.  When the leaves and stems are finished we will take another look at our flowers and see if there are any additions or corrections that we would lke to make.  We will take another short break and return for our finishing touches.  In this last section we will add a little color to our background to emphasize the flowers.  Then we will add a few finishing flourishes to complete our beautiful painting.  I will walk you through how, and where to sign you creation, and why placement is important.  Mainly, we will play in the paint and get creative!
