Welcome! Before we begin, I'll give you a brief outline of why video is important on LinkedIn, and what you'll be learning in the course content coming up.
Here's the finished video that I'll show you how to create. You may find it useful to come back and watch this video a few times whilst you complete section 4 of this training course, as it will remind you of the end result that the following steps combine to create.
The really great thing about this method of creating video, is that it's simple, quick and inexpensive. So you don't need much at all in terms of tools or equipment! But, there are just two or three things you'll need to have, so let's have a look at that short list.
As is often the case, it's a good idea to do a little preparation that will help you to quickly and easily create a professional-looking video. In particular, there's two things you need to prepare in advance. One is to capture the colours used in your company's brand, so that you can reflect them in your video. And the other is to acquire some other third-party content if you wish to embed it in your finished video.
PowerPoint has a lot of functionality. But out of all the things we can do with PowerPoint, there are just a small number of techniques which we can apply to make a PowerPoint slide show work as a video. In this section, I'll tell you what those key techniques are, so that you can quickly become familiar with them and use them repeatedly when creating your video.
Before we dive into each individual slide, let's briefly look at an overview of the whole deck. And don't forget - you can download your own copy of this slide deck from the resources attached to this part of the course.
