Explore core sewing stitches and pattern prep, including shaping the ball pattern, cutting along the circle, and using a stencil to outline facial features on fabric.
Turn the circle inside out, fill with wadding until the fabric is tight but not hard, then close the hole with invisible stitching using a hidden-start knot and edge-parallel stitches.
Practice how to modify the base by drawing guiding lines and marks, then use invisible stitching to shape the ball and alter the doll's form.
Learn to shape a plush eye by stitching along the eyelid line with large stitches outside and small stitches inside, adding eyelashes and finishing with dense fill and a knot.
Prepare plush doll patterns by printing and cutting the pattern sheet, tracing the body silhouette and face template, then fold for symmetry and mark gray sewing guides.
Fill each ear with wadding, pinch to shape, knot and stitch along a guided line to define the contour, hide thread ends, and repeat for the other ear.
Prepare the wire structure to keep the plush doll upright and the head secure. Cut and twist the spine wire, balance the lengths, and bend ends to avoid poking.
Learn to shape a plush doll's spine by drawing center and side lines, then sew a seam over a wire using invisible stitches and knotting, hiding the wire with fabric.
Sew socks for the plush doll using invisible stitching, folding edges inward from ankle to foot, and leave the wire at the ankle; repeat on the other leg.
Learn to prepare panties for a plush doll by shaping lycra fabric, folding and cutting to fit the doll's seams, pinning for symmetry, and marking the final pattern.
Finish the panties for the plush doll by folding the edge, hiding the buttocks seams, sewing around the legs with invisible stitching, and securing at the hip with optional wadding.
Flatten the torso before forming the breasts by creating a hidden horizontal seam and carving outward lines, with an optional clavicle seam and gentle wadding shaping.
Finish the plush doll's breasts by filling a fabric triangle with wadding, shaping the chest, sewing the bottoms, and ensuring rounded corners.
Position and mark a symmetrical belly button using a pin or marker, then stitch through the doll from the mark to the spine, reinforcing knots to secure it.
Attach the satin ribbon to the doll's neck, measuring, cutting, and burning the tip. Pin it and sew with a back stitch to hide seam, and tie a knot.
Sew the left hand to the body with pins and invisible, concealed stitches that hide the knot in the finger seam; repeat the method for other parts as needed.
Add volume to plush doll shoes by shaping curved felt heels and T-shaped toe tips, then sew the pieces to lycra for a finished fit.
Sew the plush doll's mouth by creating a curved line of thread from nose to corners, making small stitches along the mouth line, and finish with a knot.
Prepare fabric for the nose and cheeks, paint a gradient on the nose with an alcohol marker, then trace the cheeks with a stencil, cut outside the lines, and sew.
Place symmetrical fabric circles on the face, then sew the cheeks with small stitches perpendicular to the edge using thread that matches the fabric, repeating for the other cheek.
Prepare the plush doll's hair by forming a half-up style with wool, measuring for symmetry, cutting 25-cm pieces, folding them, and retracing lines with a phantom marker and regular marker.
Finish the plush doll's hair by trimming uneven strands, undoing wool to create curly, irregular hair, and defining braids, then complete the doll and share the result.
In this course you will learn step by step how to create a plush doll in my style
From the fabric base, how to make and insert a simple wire structure, how to make modifications to the base and add volume, dress it, make high heels, embroider the face and make hair with wool.
The course proposal is that you follow my steps while making your own doll, using my patterns and design so at the end of the course you have the basis to create your own designs and know how to execute them.
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to start in the world of making plush toys and cloth dolls and for those who already have experience and want to learn new techniques. No previous knowledge of sewing is required but you need some manual skills, patience to do small things and a lot of desire to sew.
I would love to share my techniques with you and see what you are able to create with them.
