Hello, my name is Dr. Anderson, and I absolutely love teaching because it allows me to help others meet their goals. I am a graduate of Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2001, Masters of Science in Physics and Atmospheric Science in 2006, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Administration & Supervision in 2010. After completing my bachelor's degree, I worked as a chemistry and biology teacher at a private Christian high school in MS. As a graduate student, I coordinated/taught professional development workshops for the NASA Educator Resource Center. I taught K-12 teachers in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math to earn continuing education units to maintain teacher licensure. I was also a full-time student while working on my doctoral degree. During that time, I was the Vice President of the Graduate Student Association, and I worked in Divisions of Graduate Studies.
I started working as an external dissertation chair in 2013. In 2017, I became a Dissertation Chair at an online university. I have a real passion for research, and I love to learn new information on a regular basis. My desire is to pass that knowledge on to others.
Some of the hobbies that I enjoy are exercising, knitting, sewing, and traveling for fun. I also love antiquing at flea markets on the weekends. However, I rarely get an opportunity to enjoy these activities because I have a husband, three children, an 11-year-old, a 9-year-old, and an 8-year-old.
My 97-year-old father died in 2019, and I owe my love and compassion to research to him because, without his support, I would not have the knowledge or the drive to do what's best, and that is to help others learn how to conduct advanced research. I cared for him for 11 years in my home. He had dementia due to injury after a robbery. Now, my goal after his passing is to accomplish my career desire in content course creation.
Teaching at an online university is truly a blessing because it allows me to expound on my passion for research. Being a Dissertation Chair allows me to do exactly what I enjoy doing the most, and that is research, which is why I can create a course that can help others succeed. Most importantly, it allows me the opportunity to help others accomplish their scholarly goals.
