Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth? My name is Michael Mancilla, and I’m a therapist and educator passionate about improving mental health outcomes for marginalized communities.
In this course, LGBTQ+ Youth Clinical Cultural Competency for Healthcare Providers, we’ll dive deep into the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth—challenges like stigma, rejection, and mental health disparities. You’ll learn how to create inclusive spaces, respect pronouns, and provide affirming care that builds trust and fosters healing. A Special Focus will be on the needs of Transgender Youth from a Gender Therapist who has worked with Hundreds of Patients and their families over the years.

Instructor
Michael Mancilla LICSW has over 20 years’ experience providing services to the LGBTQ community . He is Proud and "Out" Latinx therapist, who has trained thousands of Healthcare providers when he was the Director of LGBT Health at Childrens National Medical Center in Washington DC .
He also was the co-founder of the Youth Pride Clinic there where he worked with a team with a focus on Gender affirming care and supported hundreds of youth and families during his tenure there.
He has been profiled in multiple media outlets including Slate Magazine, and the Washington Post for his work with Transgender youth and HIV+ Children and two documentaries by CNN. He has served as a board member for Whitman Walker Clinic and as a field instructor for Columbia , Howard and Catholic Universities .
Nominated for the Lambda Literary award for his book "Love in The Time of HIV: The Gay Mans Guide To Sex, Dating and Relationships.
