Learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in this course designed for learners of all ages, with fun, supportive guidance.
Explore doubles in basic arithmetic by adding identical numbers, from one plus one to nine plus nine, and learn the two times table.
Practice doubles facts like seven plus seven and six plus six to build fluency, then apply the same pattern as you move to adding one and the neighbors section.
Learn how neighbors on a number line are added by doubling the smaller number and adding one, turning consecutive pairs like 7 and 8 into 15.
Master the neighbors concept in math by identifying two numbers next to each other on the number line and applying the rule: double the smaller and add one, using 6+7.
Master the doubles in between technique to add two numbers by finding the middle number between them and doubling it, with multiple worked examples.
Identify partners to ten by pairing numbers that sum to ten, such as one and nine, two and eight, three and seven, four and six, and five and five.
Learn to add two-digit numbers using carries, with examples like 10 plus 23 and 88 plus 12 to reinforce tens and ones.
Learn to subtract single-digit numbers by counting down and taking away quantities, using examples like 7 minus 1 equals 6 and 5 minus 2 equals 3.
Explore mental bump and partners of ten to simplify subtraction, using examples like 15 minus seven and 16 minus eight, recopying digits and noting doubles such as eight.
Learn the mental bump and point method for subtracting teen numbers by using partners of ten and adding the other digit to find the result.
Learn to subtract two-digit numbers through step-by-step examples. Practice borrows and align tens and ones as shown in 48-23, 37-14, 52-17, and 81-36.
Learn to multiply single digits with twos and threes, including ones and zeros, using counting by twos and adding threes, with practice tips.
Learn how to multiply by six by counting by sixes, practicing a step-by-step approach from 6 to 54, and using repetition to reinforce the sixes pattern.
Master double digit multiplication by applying place value techniques, carrying, and balancing zeros through guided practice with examples like 23 times 15, 47 times 28, and 51 times 36.
Learn double-digit multiplication with guided practice on 23×14, 4545×26, and 71×38, applying carries, balancing steps, zeroing out, and combining digits to find the final answer.
Learn division by using multiplication to see how many times a number fits into another. Practice includes zero and examples like eight divided by two and twenty-four divided by six.
Master long division with two-digit dividends and one-digit divisors using the hats-on method, counting fits and carrying down digits. Examples: 96 ÷ 6 = 16, 650 ÷ 5 = 130.
Hi everyone, I'm Mr. Kevin. I would like to welcome you to this course. We will learn a lot of tricks to solve addition and subtraction problems. I have been a tutor for twenty years and I enjoy helping others to succeed in their math classes. I am also a teacher and a math assistance for a private school. In this course you will learn how to add single digit numbers and subtract them as well. We will learn different techniques on a variety of addition and subtraction facts. We will learn terms like doubles, neighbors, partners to 10, and mental bump and point. Also, we will learn how to multiply and divide numbers. I'll take it step by step and how to add numbers and subtract them too. I'll try to make it fun and you will learn a lot of math along the way. I am looking forward to teaching the basic skills of math. I'm really looking forward to showing you math tricks to make math easier for you. Thank you so much for taking my course, and I'm excited to share with you what I know. Thank you again and I'm glad you are here! Take care.
