Are you looking to learn 3D design and modeling in a hands-on way? This course shows how to use Sketchup's many tools through a central project of modeling a home from scratch. This course is designed for the absolute beginner, meaning no prior experience with SketchUp or 3D modeling is required.
You will start by learning how to set up the template and toolbars, as well as the basic drawing tools, such as the line, rectangle and rotated rectangle, circle, and freehand tool. You will then jump into learning how to create different roof types. Dan will show you how to organize the model, create the second floor and additional openings, and import and edit textures. This video tutorial also covers how to create the ceiling, staircase, doors and windows, fireplace, and kitchen. You will learn how to use the 3D warehouse and add furniture, model furniture from a photograph, and create the exterior of the home. Finally, you will learn how to create a rendering composite in Photoshop, create a presentation with layout, and render and export.
Once you have completed this computer based training course, you will be fully capable of using the tools available in SketchUp to create your own 3D models.
