Description

GREAT NEWS FOR MY CURRENT AND FUTURE STUDENTS THAT WANT TO LEARN HOW TO LEARN !!

This 'LEARNING HOW TO LEARN' course is now a 'TWO-IN-ONE COURSE'!

I added my 'Learning How to Learn with Flashcard Mapping' course to the 'Learning How to Learn with the REAL Learning Process Path' course (it starts in Section 11 of this course).

I did this to give my students more value in one course so they could learn how to learn!

PLEASE NOTE:

  • There will be some overlapping and repetition (in the second course), but this is good and a great consolidation!

  • You can start with Section 1, complete the first course, and then do the second one.

  • OR, you can go to Section 11 immediately and do the Flashcard Mapping course first, as it can be done first.

WHAT SOME OF MY STUDENTS (FROM 72 COUNTRIES, SPEAKING 16 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES) ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS LEARNING HOW-TO-LEARN COURSE

Len: This is a superior Udemy course packed with useful information and supplementary resources. Its target audience seems primarily to be people in classroom-learning situations, but its content is immensely valuable to anyone interested in learning about anything.

Cecil: I know a couple of learning strategies and techniques, but what this course does is put them into a well-structured plan that is easy to understand and follow for teachers and students (of all ages).

Javier R: Out of all the Udemy learning programs, I have to say this is the best program I have taken. It is worth every single penny. I have changed a lot, and I am very happy with the results. This program has helped me in my learning process.

Andrea A: So glad I came across this course!

Sue D:  A very clear model that is well broken down with an invaluable amount of resources

Desiree S: Thank you for an excellent course I will be using this in my practice as well as in my studies.

Shannon P: Estelle, you have designed a well-researched, well-paced, and thorough course. I will need to put aside time to go through all the additional resources and readings. Thank you for sharing all this. I especially liked the way that you designed the course; you were really applying what you were teaching us. Bite-sized chunks of information using a multi-sensory approach and then regular quizzes to recall what we had learned. You are an excellent educator.

Alberta V: The Real Learning Process Path is a must for every student, regardless of age. The course presentation and materials are user-friendly and relevant to teaching and learning. Not only does it prepare the playing field for meaningful lifelong learning, it also makes teachers think anew about teaching materials, teaching methods, intervention, and their responsibility for lifelong learning. I wish I had been exposed to the course 40 years ago. It would have made my teaching and learning so much more streamlined.

Marcel T: Hele goede cursus waar ik nog heel vaak op kan terugvallen.

WHY DID I DEVELOP THIS LEARNING HOW TO LEARN COURSE?

I developed this course, Learning How to Learn with the REAL Learning Process Path, to support school learners, students, and adult learners as part of my intervention process. However, this course can help you too.

For more nearly three decades, I have worked with school and adult learners who want to become more effective, independent, and self-regulated in their learning. I combined this clinical and teaching experience into a practical and powerful 6-step REAL Learning Process.

Each lecture unpacks one part of this process in a structured and meaningful way. Although the course is practical and easy to apply, the principles behind the process are also supported by the science of learning.

This means the course is not just a collection of random study tips, tricks, or quick hacks.

It is a step-by-step learning process that can help you understand how you learn, improve your learning habits, and become a more reflective, strategic, and self-regulated learner.

AND NOW A BIT MORE ABOUT THIS LEARNING HOW TO LEARN COURSE

Learning how to think and learning how to learn are often described as some of life’s most important skills.

We all need to think and learn more effectively to cope in a world that is changing faster than we can often keep up with. As a learner today, you may have to deal with more disruption, challenges, and unfamiliar problems than previous generations. Even when you cannot predict the future, you can prepare for it by developing better thinking, learning, and self-regulation skills.

Change, disruption, and new problems can push us out of our comfort zones. The COVID-19 pandemic, for example, forced both adults and school learners to adapt to new ways of working, learning, and communicating. Many learners around the world are still struggling with the transition between online and in-person learning, as well as the increased demands placed on independent learning.

I have worked with school learners, students, and adult learners as an occupational therapist for decades. Over many years, I have seen an increasing need for stronger thinking skills, metacognitive awareness, learning strategies, and executive function skills such as planning, organisation, focus, time management, and self-monitoring. The COVID-19 pandemic intensified many of these challenges.

This is one of the reasons I developed the Learning How to Learn with the REAL Learning Process Path course. It gives learners a structured, practical process to help them become more aware of how they learn, how they approach tasks, and how they can become more effective, independent, and self-regulated learners.

SEE HOW THIS LEARNING HOW-TO-LEARN COURSE CAN HELP YOU!

  • If you are an older or adult learner (with or without underlying difficulties), you can do the course on your own to become a more metacognitive and effective learner who thinks about your thinking and learning to make changes to achieve your goals;

  • If you are a younger learner, you can do this course with a parent to improve your knowledge and skills, become a better learner, and improve your marks with some simple steps.

  • If you are a parent who wants to support your child/children to develop better metacognitive learning skills, this course will be an excellent resource, as you will get stacks of valuable information and resources. And most of all, you'll have lifetime access to all these videos and resources!

  • If you are a professional who works with children, this course will be a great resource to support your clients in developing better metacognitive learning skills (and it will save you lots of time and effort!)  It can also help you to expand your existing services or start additional services in your practice. You'll be able to go back to the short informative videos over and over and even use the videos in your therapy sessions (like some of my other students and therapists are doing already and with good results).

  • If you are an educator, this course will help you support the learners in your classes to develop better metacognitive learning skills (and improve their marks!) It can also help you to be more aware of possible adaptations that you can make in your way of teaching, such as creating PowerPoint presentations or notes, etc.

USE THIS LEARNING HOW TO LEARN COURSE WITH MY OTHER COURSES

I have now added my Flashcard Mapping Course to the Learning How to Learn with the REAL Learning Process Path Course.

This means that this is now a two-in-one course. It provides more in-depth information about learning how to learn, as well as an additional course on Flashcard Mapping, a surprisingly powerful summary and study strategy.

This comprehensive course can also be used together with my other Udemy online courses, 7 Metacognitive Steps to Be More and Better Learning Teaching Support Material: How & Why?

When used together, these courses provide a broader understanding of metacognition, learning strategies, executive functioning, self-regulated learning, and the role of learning material in the learning process. They show how learners can become more aware of how they think, learn, plan, organise, focus, manage time, and take greater responsibility for their own learning.

The 7 Metacognitive Steps to Be More course focuses more specifically on how metacognitive steps can support learners who experience executive function challenges such as organisation, focus, time management, task initiation, and follow-through. These skills are also especially important in the first step of the REAL Learning Process, where learners need to get ready to learn, plan effectively, and approach tasks with more awareness and intention.

The Better Learning Teaching Support Material: How & Why? course highlights the important role and influence of learning and teaching support material in the learning process. It explores how learning material can either enhance or hamper learning, especially when information is poorly organised, visually overwhelming, or contributes to cognitive overload.

Together, these courses can help you become a better thinker and learner, or help you support others in becoming more effective, independent, and self-directed learners.
