Meet your instructor!
Lets take a look at the default user interface, then load our own custom UI and get started.
First we will setup our spotlight reference image, then begin sculpting our head and nose.
We will continue sculpting our head by adding lips and ears.
We will use the spotlight to project a realistic eye image.
For the right eye we will build an eye patch and learn how to use the "CurveStrapSnap" brush.
Next we will create a bandana for our pirate!
We will model our eyebrow by using the mask and extract technique.
Using the same tecnique once again, we mask and extract hair for our character.
In this lesson we will create the scar and take a look at the BPR, zBrush rendering.
Next, we will create the body and connect it to the head.
Extracting the shirt and polypainting the blue stripes will be our next task.
By appending the basic shapes we will build the handle and then extract the blade.
We will use the clip brush to refine and reshape our sword.
In this lesson we will add fine detail to our sword.
Using zSpheres we will build our left arm.
Once we finish shaping our arm, we will mirror it to the other side.
By Using our hPolish brush, masking and Inflating we will create a nice set of nails.
The shorts will be sculpted from a basic sphere.
Using the mask, extract, and clip brush we will create our belt.
In this lesson we will extract our straps and learn how to use QMesh and zModeler brush to create a buckle.
We will use the EdgeLoop tools to create an awesome patch on our cartoony pants.
We will extrude the shape of the foot from a plane.
Lets create the toenails using the same technique as our nails.
Next, we will create a wooden leg out of a basic cylinder then add wood noise for extra detail.
Lets get our pirate to hold the sword in his right hand, just like the reference image.
Lets pose our character using the Transpose Master Plugin.
In this lesson we will learn how to add facial expressions to our character.
We covered what is Decimation Master and its purpose, as well as how we can create UV's for our new optimized "body" mesh.
We cleaned up our lines and exported the shirt.
We will setup UV's and optimize our eye for export to Keyshot.
Next we will decimate, texture and export our sword.
Using the same technique we export the pirate shorts.
In this final lesson we will import all of our obj files and quickly setup a nice final render which we can then modify in Photoshop!
This course is for anyone who wants to learn a great workflow for creating high quality 3D cartoon characters in zBrush. We will cover all the basics and show you how you can take any drawing and turn it into a clean high end 3D model.
We will cover important sculpting techniques and I will show you how to properly paint your model inside zBrush. We will also take a look at some of the more popular brushes and alphas which you can use to add fantastic skin detail and paint any design you want on your own character.
We will then learn how to pose our final character and take a quick look at how we can use layers to setup amazing facial expressions!
As the final step we will optimize our mesh, create texture maps for the elements that require it and bring it into Keyshot for a final beautiful render image. With this knowledge you will be able to export your high res models from zBrush into any 3d package for further lighting and rendering.
