Welcome to the course, this lecture explains the course objectives
You will be able to position your hands properly over the keyboard.
Learn two extra letters beyond the home keys, guiding the index finger from a and c to d, while keeping the small finger on the home keys and space bar.
Move from the home position to the bottom row, guiding each finger to its bottom-row key, including z x c on the left and m, comma, and question mark on the right.
Practice with home keys and bottom keys through letter drills, close your eyes to test your ability to locate the home keys and reinforce always returning to the home position.
Practice top row key drills to build familiarity with letter placements using both hands, and verify accuracy by typing sequences with eyes closed.
Practice forming sentences to strengthen touch typing, focusing on capital letters, the apostrophe, the spacebar, and punctuation like a full stop and a question mark, with correct spacing.
Explore how the left hand’s small finger uses caps lock, tab, and backspace, while the right hand’s small finger uses shift, apostrophe, and square brackets to type capitals.
Position your hands with wrists not resting on the desk and fingers on the keys to keep wrists flexible as your fingers fly across the keyboard, and avoid looking down.
Thank you for taking this course; download exercises, practice to improve, keep your wrists off the desk, hands level, fingers resting on the keys, and don’t look down while typing.
