Hello, My name is Jeremy Whaley and I'm thrilled to have you reading my profile.
Professionally I'm best known as one of the Co-Founders and former CEO of TradeSmart University, where we teach people how to trade the stock market. You could say I was blessed enough to kind of "fall into" that as a profession. I didn't start off as a teacher and if you had asked me 10 years ago, I would not have considered myself a teacher.
I started my professional career as a musician. I have a music degree. I spent 8 years producing albums, making tracks, working with artists, and running my own recording studio in Nashville TN. There's just one thing they don't tell you about the music business when you start: a musician who is "doing well" is still living in poverty compared to most of the other professions of the world!
Despite the fact I was "doing well" as a musician, I needed extra money so in 2005, after I got married, I decided to really dig-in to a side interest I had and become an expert. That interest was stock and options trading.
I originally started trading in 1999 when I was in college, but I put it down for a little bit while I was focused on music. When I finally committed to building my trading skills, I had no idea what an exciting journey it would lead me through.
A couple of years into it I had people asking me about what I was doing and I started teaching some friends and family. Before I knew it I had about 10-12 people learning from me! The biggest surprise, however, was the fact that I liked it! In fact, I liked teaching more than I liked trading!
In 2008 my business partner and I launched what became TradeSmart University. We wanted to share with the world what I had been teaching my friends and family. We did some free advertising and had almost 800 people sign up for our very first free webinar! We were amazed ! And the rest, as they say, is history.
I have a hard time saying what I do. Yes, I'm a teacher. And yes, I'm an entrepreneur. And I'm also a trader. But the interesting thing is the journey took me to new places I never expected to go. I became a marketer, a business developer, a motivational coach, an employer, a blogger, a very bad graphic designer, and much more. All the while, I'm still a music producer and keyboard player.
Some would call me a Jack of all trades, but in reality, I think I represent the 21st-century person. In today's "information age" we have so much access to so much information, it is only natural that people learn multiple disciplines. Today, the idea of becoming one thing and sticking with that your whole life is old. In today's marketplace and in the next 10-15 years, we will see even more solo-preneurs taking control of their future and learning multiple disciplines. It's essential for survival.
I'm passionate about helping people. I love sharing what I have learned, learning more, and watching others do the same. I'm passionate about destroying financial barriers to success. I'm passionate about living life in an extra-ordinary way. I believe we were created for a purpose and anything less than extraordinary is not living up to our full potential.
If you were to ask me who I am, I guess I could best sum it up this way: I'm a man on a mission to experience this extraordinary life we were created to live. Everything else is just part of the journey.
I hope my classes and training can help you carve out some new understandings of what it means to live an extraordinary life.
