Description

Whether you are a student pilot, flight dispatcher, air traffic controller, or aviation enthusiast, understanding aviation weather messages is a critical skill.  These standardized reports are the foundation of flight planning and in-flight decision-making, and this course gives you the practical tools and knowledge to interpret them with confidence.

After the course introduction, you will dive deep into METAR messages, breaking down each component of routine weather observations. Apply what you've learned immediately with some practical examples using real-world reports.

From there, we'll move into TAF messages, the Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts that help pilots anticipate future weather conditions. With few other practical examples, you will work through real-world forecast scenarios and decode the details that matter.

Finally, you will explore SPECI messages, those special time-sensitive updates issued when weather conditions change rapidly and significantly. You will learn how to identify them and when they are issued, so you could act accordingly in daily flight operations.

By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently interpret aviation weather messages and use that knowledge to improve flight safety and situational awareness.

Clear explanations, real examples, and professional insights.
