Welcome to Learn to Prompt. In this short introduction, I’ll show you how this 7-day course works, how to use the lessons and worksheets, and how to get the most value from ChatGPT without feeling overwhelmed.
That’s it. No overthinking.
Day 1: Curiosity Reset - Meet Your New AI Helper
Welcome to Day 1. In this video, we’ll gently reset any worries about AI, talk about what today will look like, and help you approach ChatGPT with curiosity instead of pressure.
In this lesson, you’ll explore what AI is, how it works at a simple level, and why you don’t need to “know the right words” to get started.
Today is all about getting comfortable and curious.
If you’re 50+ and brand new to AI, you are exactly in the right place. You do not have to be “techy” to do this.
Think of AI — like ChatGPT — as a very clever assistant who’s available 24/7.
It doesn’t judge, it doesn’t roll its eyes, and it doesn’t expect you to know the right words. It just responds to whatever you type.
Our goal today is simple:
See that AI can respond kindly and clearly.
Notice that you already know how to “talk” to AI, because you already know how to talk to people.
You’re going to give AI one gentle invitation:
Open ChatGPT.
Copy and paste the Beginner Prompt below.
Read what it says back to you.
Notice how it feels — curious, light, maybe even a little exciting.
You cannot get this wrong. We are just playing.
Beginner Prompt (Day 1)
“Act as a friendly guide. I’m a woman over 50, just starting to explore AI.
Help me think about five areas of my everyday life where I’d love more ease or support.
For each area, give me a one-sentence idea for how AI might be able to help, in very simple language.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt (for those already familiar)
Level-Up Prompt – Day 1
“Act as a clarity coach.
Based on the list of areas we just created, help me spot any patterns or themes.
Then suggest one small, gentle change I could try this week to make life a bit easier and explain why you chose it.”

Here’s the written version of today’s lesson knowing you can come back to it anytime.
That’s it for Day 1.
You’ve just had your first conversation with AI.
Tomorrow, we’ll learn a simple formula that makes AI’s answers even clearer and more helpful — without getting complicated.
Welcome to Day 2
Yesterday you saw that AI can respond to natural, everyday language.
Today, I’m going to show you a simple formula that makes your prompts much more powerful.
I added this in even though it's what I say in the video… I think it is good to have text to read along with.
Here's the structure:
Role – who you want AI to pretend to be
Goal – what you want it to help you do
Context – any background that will help it help you
Output – how you want it to respond (bullets, steps, table, etc.)
Here’s a weak prompt:
“Help me with my day.”
It’s vague. AI has to guess.
It’s vague. AI has to guess.
We’re going to turn it into a stronger prompt, step by step.
Role: “Act as a gentle planning partner.”
Goal: “Help me plan my day.”
Context: “I’m a woman over 50, I get tired easily, and I don’t want a huge list.”
Output: “Give me only 5 simple tasks in bullet points.”
When we put that together, AI suddenly knows exactly how to help you.
Today’s exercise is to practice that.
Beginner Prompt (Day 2)
“Act as a gentle planning partner.
I’m a woman over 50 and I want a calm, realistic day, not a huge to-do list.
Help me plan today by suggesting 5 simple, doable tasks that will make me feel satisfied but not overwhelmed.
Respond in bullet points, using kind, encouraging language."
Optional Level-Up Prompt (Day 2)
“Act as a prompt engineer.
Review the prompt I just used to plan my day.
Suggest 2 improvements that would make it even clearer or more specific.
Then rewrite my prompt using your suggestions, keeping the same gentle tone.”.
You’ve just learned how to give AI a role, a goal, some context, and clear instructions.
Tomorrow, we’ll use this formula to spark fun, creative ideas — no business talk, just joy.
Welcome to Day 3.
Today is about fun and curiosity. Nothing we’re doing today has to make money, fix your whole life, or be productive.
Prefer to read or revisit this later?
Here’s the written version of today’s lesson knowing you can come back to it anytime.
AI is brilliant at generating ideas:
New hobbies
Ways to bring more joy into your week
Gentle routines that feel good in this season of life
We’ll use one clear prompt to ask AI for ideas designed just for you.
Read the prompt first, then notice how it uses:
a Role: idea generator
a Goal: more joy and energy
Context: who you are and what you want
an Output: a short list with explanations
Beginner Prompt (Day 3)
“Act as an idea generator for my next chapter of life.
I’m a woman over 50, and I want more joy, energy, and curiosity in my week.
Give me 5 simple ideas I could try this month — things like small routines, hobbies, or experiences.
For each idea, explain in one short sentence why it might feel good for me.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt (Day 3)
“Choose one of the ideas you just suggested and expand it into a simple 5-step plan that feels gentle and realistic.
Keep it under 150 words.
Make sure it includes:
1. a tiny first step I can do today, and
2. encouragement if I fall off track.”
Today, you used AI to open up possibilities.
Tomorrow, we’re going to see those ideas by creating your first AI-generated image — just for fun.
Welcome to Day 4.
Today we’re playing with images.
If you’ve ever seen those AI photos or illustrations online and thought, “I could never do that,” I want you to know: you absolutely can.
You don’t need design skills. You just need a clear description. That’s what a visual prompt is.
We’re going to create one calming, encouraging image that represents this season of your life.
I think it is good to have text to read along with as well as audio.
We’ll keep it personal, not business. Something like:
A cozy reading corner
A peaceful morning with coffee
A symbol of confidence and new beginnings
You’ll then paste this prompt into your image tool (like Pikzels or another generator like ChatGTP5.2 or Nano Banana Gemini).
Beginner Visual Prompt
Beginner Prompt – Day 4
“Create an image of a cozy, peaceful space where a woman over 50 feels completely at ease.
Include a comfortable chair, a warm drink, soft lighting, and a sense of quiet calm.
Use warm, gentle colors and make the whole scene feel inviting and safe.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt
Level-Up Prompt – Day 4
“Create 3 variations of this scene, each with a slightly different mood:
1. Uplifting and hopeful
2. Deeply serene and restful
3. Confident and empowering
For each version, suggest a short caption I could put on the image.”
You just created your first AI image.
Tomorrow we’ll shift into something practical: using AI to organize and support your everyday life.
One of the most helpful ways to use AI is for organisation — not in a complicated, corporate way, but in a “make my brain feel lighter” way.
I added this in even though it's what I say in the video… I think it is good to have text to read along with.
Today, we’re going to ask AI to create a simple 7-day tracker you can use for:
Habits
Joy moments
Gentle goals
You can keep this in Notion, a spreadsheet, or even print it out. The structure will come from AI; you decide where to keep it.
Beginner Prompt (Day 5)
“Help me create a simple 7-day ‘feel-good’ tracker.
I’m a woman over 50 and I want to gently check in with myself each day.
Make a table with these columns: Day, What I Did For Myself Today, How I Felt (1–10), Notes.
Fill in one example row to show me how to use it.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt (Day 5)
“Add a weekly reflection section with 3 journaling prompts I can answer at the end of the week.
Make the prompts supportive and kind, focusing on progress, not perfection.”
You now have a simple system to check in with yourself — created with AI
Tomorrow, we’ll connect the dots and build your first tiny “workflow.”
Welcome to Day 6
You’ve tried:
Asking AI questions
Using the prompt formula
Generating ideas
Creating an image
Building a tiny tracker
Today we’re going to link a few of those together into your first AI workflow — a simple chain of prompts that support each other.
I think it is good to have text to read along with as well as audio.”
Our example workflow:
1. Start with an idea (from Day 3)
2. Turn it into an image prompt (Day 4 style)
3. Add it to your tracker or notes (Day 5 style)
You’ll see that you can start with one thought and end up with:
Words
A visual
A place to keep track of it
Beginner Prompt – Day 6
“Summarise my favorite idea from Day 3 in one clear sentence that feels encouraging and realistic for a woman over 50.
Then suggest one simple image concept I could create to represent that idea, using calm, gentle language.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt (Day 6)
“Turn my favorite Day 3 idea into a tiny ‘mini-project.’
1. Give it a simple project name.
2. Write a one-sentence theme.
3. Suggest a thumbnail-style image concept (for later, if I want to share it).
4. Suggest how I could track this in my 7-day feel-good tracker.”
You’ve just built your first mini-workflow with AI.
Tomorrow, we’ll gently explore how this same skill can support simple money-making or meaningful projects, using the free guide you received.
Welcome to Day 7
You’ve spent the week building:
Curiosity
Confidence
Creativity
A few tiny systems that support you
Today, we’re going to look at how AI can help you turn one idea into something more concrete.
You have a free guide with simple money-making or project ideas. Instead of rushing into “hustle mode,” we’re going to use AI to:
Choose one idea that feels good to you
Shape it into a small, doable plan
Explore different paths: personal, community, and (if you want) micro-business
There is no pressure to make money with this.
The real goal is:
“See how AI can help me shape an idea into something real.”
Beginner Prompt (Day 7)
“Act as a supportive guide.
Here are some ideas from a mini-guide I’m reading:
[PASTE NOTES OR MAIN IDEAS HERE]
I’m a woman over 50 and I want something that feels gentle, realistic, and maybe even fun.
From these ideas, help me pick one that seems like the best fit for my energy and situation right now.
Then create a simple, step-by-step plan with no more than 5 steps, written in warm, encouraging language.”
Optional Level-Up Prompt (Day 7)
“Act as a clarity strategist.
Based on the idea and plan we just created, show me 3 possible paths this could take:
1. "A personal version just for me or my family"
2. "A community-sharing version (for friends, local groups, or online community)"
3. "A beginner-friendly micro-business possibility that could bring in a little extra income"
For each path, explain in 3–4 sentences what it might look like, keeping everything low-pressure and realistic.”
You’ve completed the 7-Day Learn to Prompt Lab.
You now know how to:
Talk to AI clearly
Use it for ideas, visuals, and organization
Build mini-workflows
Gently explore how your ideas could become projects — and maybe even income, if and when you’re ready
From here, you can repeat these prompts, adapt them, and slowly build your own AI-powered way of working and living.
You did it.
