We are showing here how cracked bamboo can be easily repaired. We demonstrate with a Fue, but it is the same for the Shakuhachi; you will need to wait overnight for the crack to close up after placing a slightly wet tissue on the opposite side of the crack. This will allow the bamboo to soak in some water and close the gap of the crack at which time you can start putting the nylon string around very tightly. We recommend a slightly stronger fishing line for the Shakuhachi. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
