A quick intro and overview about the course. Meet me, I meet you, and off we go to learn all about flash!
Be sure to grab the Photography Fundamentals PDF attached to this lecture to make sure you've got a firm foundation before moving on.
In this lecture we're going to talk about everything you need to take flash photographs. We're making the assumption that you've got a camera with a hot shoe but need everything else. You'll learn how to assemble a barebones kit for the least amount of money to get you going.
As important as it is to know what to get, it's just as important to know what not to get. That helps save you money! We talk about that and more in part two of "The Gear That Makes It Happen"
Having lots of gear but no idea how to set it up isn't very useful. In this lecture we'll cover the nuts and bolts of putting the different pieces of your gear together and explain the purpose of each. You'll be a pro at setup and breakdown by the end of this video!
Now that we've got our gear and have it set up, it's time to turn it on and make it work. We'll walk through how to get your camera to talk to your flashes, how to get your speedlights on different channels if you want to use more than one, and more.
(PART 1 of 2)
This is where it's at. We're going to use all of our newfound knowledge to actually make incredible flash photographs that will let you wow your clients and get your business to the next level. We'll talk positioning, softness and hardness of light, color of light, and all sorts of other things to consider when adding flash to your photo.
This section is dense and important and full of important information. Might be a good one to re-watch a couple times.

A lot of people learn best by example. This section if for you! We're going to look at a bunch of photographs and dissect the lighting, the reason they were lit that way, and how that affected the photograph. After seeing all these examples and discussing them you will have a really solid handle on the different results that different techniques produce.
