Description
Is it your ambition to learn to fly in order to simply enjoy flight or to start a career in aviation?
Would you like to learn to fly for recreation and pleasure, flying light aircraft, sport aircraft, microlights, or gyrocopters?
Do you ever look up as aircraft fly overhead and wonder if you too could become a private pilot or perhaps one day an airline pilot?
Would you like to learn more about aviation with a view to working within the General Aviation or Airline industries?
I learned to fly over 30 years ago and in this course I present you with advice and tips based on my personal experience of gaining a Private Pilots Licence (or License/Certificate as it is called in the USA). This is a course designed to inspire and motivate you rather than a technical course covering specific parts of the PPL syllabus.
Great things are ahead in aviation. We are already seeing the first all-electric aircraft and soon there will bigger hybrids and electrically powered aircraft in our skies travelling further and carrying more passengers. The era of Urban Air Mobility has begun and we'll soon see commuter aircraft with vertical take-off capabilities travelling between cities. All these aircraft will need new pilots!
Join me on this course as I introduce you to the wonderful world of the Pilot's Licence, general aviation, commercial aviation, and the aviation industry.
Who this course is for:
- People thinking about learning to fly
- People who love looking at aircraft
- People thinking of starting a career in aviation
- People of all ages who want to have fun in aircraft of all types
Instructor
With over three decades in the IT industry, I bring to the table a blend of expertise in Senior Network Engineering and web development. My journey began in the 1990s, as one of the early adopters of the internet, and culminated in crafting my first website in 1998. This depth of experience provides me with a nuanced understanding of both the technical and business aspects of the digital world.
Parallel to my career in IT, my passion for aviation and aerospace has been soaring for over sixty years. As a UK-certified Private Pilot (PPL) and a former RPQ-s certified drone operator, my credentials speak to my commitment and fascination with the aviation sector. My academic background in Aviation Studies from Farnborough Technical College further solidifies my credibility in this field.
But my interests aren't just confined to the sky; they also venture into the world of online communities. In 2005, I took the entrepreneurial leap and launched my first online dating platform, later expanding to operate multiple successful websites. My knack for spotting trends led me to the aerial photography business in 2013, fusing my love for technology and aviation.
More recently, in 2019, I established a digital platform focused on curating news about the UFO/UAP phenomenon, bridging my interests in aviation and unexplained aerial phenomena. Nowadays, my attention has shifted towards the cutting-edge realm of generative AI tools, exploring their practical and potential applications across various sectors.
