  • Why to take this course bundle6:09

Start with this free video to see why you should take this course.

  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 11:12:10
We start with single point perspective and why it is important to understand form.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 21:36:05
We get into two point perspective that explains it in a revolutionary way that anyone will finally grasp. I used to struggle so much with perspective until I discovered this new way to understand it. You will be able to turn objects in rooms and everything.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 326:12
After you learn the new revolutionary way to understand perspective, you will be able to draw in three point perspective pretty easily. That is what this lecture is all about. Drawing in three point perspective.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 442:31
In this lecture, you will master the sphere by first learning the basic lighting set up and how light works and reveals form. After this lecture, and after doing the exercises in it, you will be able to paint and draw 3D spheres from your imagination using any light angle and as many light sources as you wish.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 51:38:30
Now you will learn to draw shadows in perspective and how to bundle shapes together to form more complex shapes.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 61:14:09
In this lecture, we master the cube and flat planes. We also learn more about form and the 3D mesh you can imagine around any object.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 71:18:06
Now we master the cylinder. We also learn how to form the human figure out of cylinders and spheres, as well as a basic cartoon cat. We start to understand how all 3D objects are just a bunch of basic shapes meshed together.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 839:52
    Next we master the cone.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 939:05
Now we tackle light, and how it reveals the 3D shape of an object. We learn a bit about color, warm and cool light, and warm and cool shadows. We get into how light reveals texture as well. Just by how we light something, we can make it clay, plastic, or metal. I show how to understand this.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 101:35:32

Now we put all this information together and like magic we draw a swan with basic shapes. Then we refine the form with a good lighting system that we learned already. Then we refine it more by adding details to make it look realistic.

We also tackle foreshortening, arms and fingers being foreshortened.

  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 111:35:36
Now we learn more advanced concepts of form, and the 3D mesh of all objects. We learn to draw an alien head using basic 3D shapes, lighting them, then seeing the more complex mesh in it. We learn to see meshes in a master painting. We learn to draw fingers, hands, muscles using the mesh form and lighting it realistically from imagination.
  • Form, Lighting, and Perspective Part 1252:01
Finally, we apply everything we have learned and paint two pictures, using dynamic lighting. This is the power of drawing from imagination.
  • Bonus Clothes28:35
In this lesson, we learn how to apply all this knowledge to drawing clothes. How we can see clothes as basic shapes, meshes, that are lighting to reveal texture and shape.
  • Bonus Light 146:49
Because I'm a nice guy, I've added bonuses. This lecture goes into more complex ideas about shadow, like what happens when shadows overlap from one light source, or two light sources, or three light sources. We go more into color and how it is affected.
  • Bonus Light 229:45
We light a scene of people sitting around a magical light source and learn many things along the way.
  • Bonus Painting Lesson1:59:45
Now we put everything together and draw or paint a whole scene, using perspective, lighting, and form.

Requirements

  • 60 hours of video lessons. That is $1 per hour!
  • A pencil and paper will do just fine for most of the courses, but you will need Photoshop cs5 for one of the courses, and any program you can digitally paint in for another.

You will also learn to draw the human figure, muscles, heads, emotions, cartoons, develop your own style, perspective, 3D shapes, form, lighting, and so much more. You will even learn how to use Photoshop if that is something you are into, and how to photo edit. You will also learn how to digitally paint.
