Learning to design a solar system for our homes is very simple and useful skill. Advancement in solar energy and reduction in cost makes it very attractive to generate our own solar power to fulfil 100% requirements of homes.
The series of videos is presented by Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki, a Professor at the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay. He has been working in the field of solar energy and its application for the last two decades and has authored several books on solar. Join him as he takes you on a solar ride.
Power & Energy are very important parameters of Electrical System. An electrical appliance is referred with respect to its Power rating and electricity consumption is referred with respect to energy consumned i.e. no. of units. In this step (step-1) you will learn this basic difference. Further viewers are expected to design their own Solar PV System. To be able to estimate the total load of the system lays the foundation for designing. Hence the viewers are expected to do a small assignment to list out all the laods at their home in the end of the video.
Dr. Chetan Singh Solanki, Professor at IIT Bombay under the aegis of the Energy Swaraj Foundation has introduced a video series on “Learn to Design your own Solar Home Systems”. In this video series, 15 simple steps have been explained in a manner that anybody can assess their energy needs and design a customized solar system for their homes. The series consists of facts, calculations, design, installation, cost analysis of the entire solar systems.
