Description
This course is designed to teach the understanding and practical application of Chinese dietary therapy according to the principles of Five Element theory. Food properties are discussed as they relate to Five Element theory, Yin/Yang theory, the Four Qi, the Five Flavors, the Six Pathogens, and the Seven Emotions. Students will explore individual constitutional typing according to Five Element theory. The energetic nature of different foods are discussed as is how to use the proper foods to obtain and/or maintain balance in mind/body/spirit.

- My target students range from beginners who desire to learn more about personal nutrition to those who have used Chinese medicine to achieve wellness.
- My target students are both TCM students and practitioners who want to increase their comprehension of Chinese dietary therapy.

Instructor
Denise Thunderhawk, L.Ac., is an experienced Chinese medicine clinician, nutrition/herb consultant, writer, author and public speaker. She has an extensive repertoire, with a personal background in Psychology, East/West nutrition and herbal medicines of over twenty-five years. She has researched extensively and published more than 65 articles on various modes of holistic medicines: Oriental medicine, naturopathy, homeopathy, and Chinese/Western herbology.
