Welcome to the Learn Textured Art - mirAArt Studio family! I am so excited to have you here. This course is designed to take you on a journey through the world of heavy textures and expressive art. In this introductory video, I’ll give you a sneak peek into what we’ll be creating together and how to get the most out of our lessons. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, my goal is to help you find your unique voice through texture. Let's start creating!
Up until now, we’ve used DIY pastes to practice, experiment, and make mistakes without any pressure. This is a vital part of your learning journey. However, once you reach that point of confidence where you want to show your textured art to the world and start selling your work, you must switch to professional art pastes.
Why the switch? Your clients deserve a piece that will remain "gallery-perfect" for decades. Professional materials ensure the structural integrity and durability of your painting, preventing cracks and changes over time.
In my studio, I use these to achieve professional results:
Relief Paste: This is my favorite for most projects. It has a subtle, grainy texture and stays exactly as you shaped it with your palette knife until it is fully dry.
Butter Paste: Just like the name says - it’s smooth and silky. Use this when you want refined details and elegant, "buttery" transitions without the grain.
Natural Sand: When I want a raw, organic energy, I use authentic sand from the beaches of Greece. It adds a powerful, tactile dimension to the work.
Your Path Forward: Keep practicing with DIY, but when you create for a client, head to your local art supply store. Look for professional Relief or Modeling pastes to ensure your artwork remains a masterpiece for a lifetime.
I can't wait to see your work reach this professional level!
