My name is Leecea G. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. While in school, I noticed that not only did I love being a student, I also loved helping others. As cliché as that may sound, I would always enjoy helping my classmates understand class material. Shortly after, I became a Spanish teacher. What I love about tutoring and teaching is that I truly feel as though I am making an impact. Usually when people come to me, their vocabulary consist of I can’t or I don’t know how. By the end of my tutoring session, they usually are saying "I can" and " Now I know how." Being able to bridge that language barrier is of the upmost importance to me. Getting others excited about Spanish and its practical use makes me excited to tutor.
I want to let you know a little background about me. I am certified teacher. I teach 5th-8th grade at a Charter School in Atlanta Georgia. I am certified to teach K-12. While I mentioned that I received my Bachelor's from Kennesaw State University, I also have a Masters degree in Spanish. I have a Masters in the Arts of Teaching Foreign Langauges from Valdosta State University. Within my Masters program I became certified to teach ESOL classes as well. I have 11 years of various experience with the Spanish language. I spent most my childhood in Miami, Florida. My great-grandmother was a Spanish teacher. Being in the Miami environment, I learned a lot about the Latin culture. I was immersed in the language. My tutoring experience includes one-on-one, small groups, and large groups. I tutor all ages. I want to act as a resource for the students I teach and assist them with any challenges they may have along the way. I provide quick response and feedback. Please feel free to contact me with any additional question or to schedule a lesson!
