Welcome to Photopia!
First, let me apologize for combining Creator and Director into one course. I had them as separate courses, so as not to confuse anyone, but Udemy wouldn't allow it (thinking that separate courses would be more confusing). I tried to explain.....but it fell on deaf ears. So sorry :(
Photopia is a robust Slide Show program with lots of animation tools and features. If you're coming from ProShow, you'll recognize a lot of the terminology and there will be a familiar feel to the way your shows are built. Photopia isn't exactly like Proshow, however. Take the time to learn the new Interface and play with the fun new animation tools!
When you're finished with this course you'll be able to use the following Photopia features:
Groups
Shapes
(Director Only) Slices
(Director Only) Caption Slices
Captions
Masking Layers
Adjustment Layers
Motion Path Editing
(Director Only) Creating Your Own Slide Styles
(Director Only) Creating Your Own Transitions
Creating Your Own Wizard Theme
Edit using the Keyframe Timeline
Edit Music in the Timeline Tab
Most importantly, when you're done with this course, you'll be able to create a stunning slideshow in no time!
In this tutorial we'll go over the basics of using the Wizard to create a show and how Photopia's ability to recognize your image's orientation makes this feature much more efficient than it was in ProShow.
ProShow Gold users may find themselves completely overwhelmed by Photopia. There is no Gold equivalent, as Photopia Creator has all the animation tools that ProShow Producer had. So, Gold users not only need to learn about all the new features that Photopia has, they need to go back and learn all the basic features Producer had.
In this tutorial, I'll go way back to the basics of animating an image in a slide and I'll let Gold users who are terrified of Keyframes in on a little secret: you already had them ;)
The Home Page is where you’ll start each time you launch Photopia. This is where you will find a list of all your Projects, the latest News from Photopia, options to import projects and shows, manage your effects, and check for Photopia updates.

There are three different views for Slides in Photopia. Each view has unique features and tools that allow you to control different aspects of your slides and content. This short tutorial goes over the fundamental differences between these views.
At first glance, the Adjustments and Animations tabs might look similar, but they serve different purposes. The Adjustments tab applies global changes, while the Animations tab applies changes over time using Keyframes.
Having more than one preview window can make working with keyframes easier. The dual preview mode, for example, can provide a "Start" and "End" view of your keyframe animations. Photopia offers these options as Preview Modes when working in the Animations tab.
