SketchUp isn’t required; import models directly into alumina and view them in Lumia, with optional use of the Liva Sink plug in to instantly update SketchUp assets.
Explore Lumion license options, education and pro, with trial and business, highlighting free pro access for students with a .edu email, a 14-day trial, and fuller content library and effects.
Explore the Lumion welcome page to start new projects, load examples, run benchmarks, and access news, tips, and settings while learning practical navigation and proxy usage for faster renders.
Move, rotate, and scale objects from the content library by using place and select modes, surface snapping, and layer controls for precise Lumion 12 scenes.
Start the Lumion architectural project here. First make sure to grab all the resources, including a Lumion file and/or SkethcUp import
Finalize the landscape in Lumion by adjusting views, filling horizon lines, refining terrain with variation, replacing canopies with pines, and preparing lighting setups for interior realism.
Explore real-world lighting in Lumion 12 by using IESE profiles, targeting spotlights, adjusting Kelvin color and brightness, and organizing light layers for photorealistic interior renders.
Explore two point perspective to straighten verticals and align planes, then apply depth of field with autofocus to keep a focal point sharp while blurring the background.
Master hyper light and skyline to brighten shading and reveal nooks in Lumion 12 photorealistic interior and exterior renders, then adjust color correction for temperature, saturation, and contrast.
Enable reflections to achieve realism using reflection speed and planes for floors, windows, and countertops; preview does not affect the final render, but can slow exterior renders.
Define and apply layer accessibility and a sketch pass for stylized previews, then adjust time of day, real skies, and global illumination to achieve photorealistic interior and exterior renders.
Explore stylized lighting with biometric spotlights and bloom, compare real skies for photo realism against sky dome controls, and learn to generate clouds or use Fougere Fargas to shroud horizons.
Explore Lumion 12's photorealistic interior and exterior rendering, with practical insights on animation, enhancements like bloom and vignette, variation controls for material or geometry options, and high res rendering.
Learn how to update a source SketchUp model in Lumion 12, use life sync for real-time updates, re-import changes, and manage visibility of components and materials.
Save and reuse the glass material from the custom library, adjust wall textures, reflections, and lighting, then render interior and exterior scenes to achieve photorealistic results.
Enhance architectural renders in Photoshop by duplicating images for backups, applying camera filter adjustments and presets, then fine-tuning exposure, contrast, vibrance, and sharpening before final crop and glow.
Are you ready to learn Lumion 12 quickly and easily while creating a fun, professional project?
In this course, the instructor will start you from the beginning with a SketchUp model (download link provided). The SketchUp model will be linked to Lumion and we will start the rendering process (Note: various types of models can be imported into Lumion, not just SketchUp). Within just a couple of hours, you will have gone through the essential settings in Lumion, and you will start creating photorealistic interior and exterior renderings of your own. By the end, you will have a nice piece to add to your portfolio.
The magic of Lumion is how intuitive it is, and how it streamlines the rendering process into something that everyone can easily understand. If you are an architect or a designer who needs visualizations / renderings but hasn't yet been able to learn complex rendering workflows, this is the course for you. With a simple UI, a vast library, and all the necessary tools in Lumion, you will be rendering photoreal images in no time.
It's time to take your SketchUp and Revit models to the next level with Lumion. There is no faster / easier way to go from a basic model to stunning visualization.
Students will go through:
Starting a new project
Navigation + UI
Importing your 3D model
Placing objects in your scene (such as decor and lights)
Modifying objects
Create realistic materials
Create realistic landscapes + forest
Use Lumion Effects
Composing Interior and Exterior Renderings
Adding post-processing effects
Create realistic final renderings
New videos will be added
This course is brought to you by Learn Arch Viz, a trusted source for architectural visualization training. The instructor, Andy, has partnered with LearnArchViz in order to bring his expert knowledge of Lumion to you. Andy and Learn Arch Viz will be here to provide support in the Q&A section of the course in a timely manner.
