We’ll also highlight common pronunciation mistakes learners often make and give you tips to avoid them, so you can sound more natural from the start.
This lesson introduces you to the most useful Italian greetings and everyday expressions. You’ll learn how to say hello, goodbye, and ask “how are you?” in both formal and informal situations. We’ll also practice simple but essential phrases you can use when meeting new people, making small talk, or starting a friendly conversation. These are the first steps to confidently using Italian in daily life.

This lesson focuses on the verb avere (to have). You’ll practice its conjugation and learn how to use it to express possession (e.g., “I have a book”) and even age (“I am 20 years old” in Italian literally means “I have 20 years”). These are must-know structures for daily conversation.
You’ll discover the three main verb groups in Italian: -ARE, -ERE, and -IRE. We’ll break down their conjugation patterns and practice with common verbs like parlare (to speak), leggere (to read), and dormire (to sleep). This will give you the tools to start forming a variety of basic sentences.
Not all verbs follow the rules! In this lesson, you’ll meet essential irregular verbs like fare (to do), andare (to go), and stare (to stay). You’ll learn how they are conjugated and see them in real-life contexts to start using them naturally.
Here, we’ll focus on building questions (“Where are you from?” “What time is it?”) and making negative sentences (“I don’t like…”). By the end, you’ll be able to ask and answer simple questions and express both positive and negative ideas in Italian.
