Who am I? and how I will teach you to read in Russian in less than 1 hour?
My name is Karine AVAKOVA, I'm a Russian speaking Armenian who speaks Russian, French, English and Spanish. I am an IT engineer and a mother of two children. I have always loved teaching foreign languages.
I'll help you to master the reading in Russian in less than an hour by going straight to the point and by practicing. I will close up this course with some amazing advice on how to learn any foreign language and how to write cyrillic letters and give you the printables to practice on your own.
We'll get the general overview of the whole alphabet with its 31 letters and 2 silent sounds. I will go through each letter, show you how it looks like, its name and how it sounds (diving directly into phonetics) and then help you to figure out the sound by giving you examples in English words which have the same or similar sound.
Some letters look like the Latin letters, but are they the same or are they false cognates ? How not to mix up the Latin and the Cyrillic letters.
Purely cyrillic letters, mnemonic technics, tips, tricks and hacks to learn them by heart, to memorize them and pronounce them correctly.
Russian vowels, reading our first syllables and understanding the hard and the soft sounds of the consonnants.
That's it, we can read in Russian now, let's do some exercises and recall all the mnemonic technics we've learnt before.
Here I will show you how to write in Russian, don't forget to print the printables and practice.
I will list here Russian grammar's particularities and my personal tips and tricks so you can learn any foreign language you want
Greetings!
I'm Karine AVAKOVA, an IT engineer, and a proud mother of two, deeply passionate about learning and teaching foreign languages.
Fluent in Russian, French, English, and Spanish, I'm thrilled to guide you through this course where, in less than 1 hour, you'll not only read in Russian but also memorize all the letters using effective mnemonic techniques and master Russian phonetics.
Countless French-speaking students have already benefited from this course, and I'm confident my English-speaking students will be no exception. I believe that achieving proficiency in reading is a foundational step in mastering any foreign language. If you've ever felt that after years of language learning, you're missing something because reading still eludes you, you're not alone.
My teaching philosophy centers on practicality without unnecessary theory. By integrating everyday words, I cut to the chase. I'm a fan of mnemonic techniques, which, though they may seem silly at first, lay the groundwork for you to develop your own effective strategies later on.
This course is not just about reading; it's about learning how to learn. In two bonus videos, I'll cover:
- The art of writing Russian letters, complete with printables for your practice sessions.
- Key aspects of Russian grammar, providing you with the foundation to continue learning and mastering the language.
- My personal tips and tricks for mastering any foreign language you desire.
I invite you to join us on this exciting journey of learning Russian. Let's embark on this enriching experience together!
