At the beginning of my teaching career, I worked in inner city schools as an English teacher. I became aware of the challenges students had in acquiring reading and writing skills and developed a passion to support the students who are marginalized because of these issues.
I set about training so that I could meet their needs. Firstly, I completed a Dyslexia qualification so that I could assess and support students with dyslexic difficulties. I then undertook a Masters qualification in Linguistics as well as English as an Additional Language trainer courses.
During this time, I worked as a Special Needs Coordinator, Teacher Trainer and Senior Leader.
I am well equipped to coach teachers so that they can effectively support the language needs of students.
