Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. Let's learn blender by creating what inspired us!
In Windows, the batch file is a file that stores commands in a serial order. Command line interpreter takes the file as an input and executes in the same order. A batch file is simply a text file saved with the .bat file extension. It can be written using Notepad or any other text editor. We can make use this feature to automate some monotonous jobs that will help to speed up our work.
Let's create the necessary folders and import the 3D Car model into our main scene.
Features you will be learning parallel:
Proper Folder Structure
Import vs Append vs Link
Light can be a powerful storyteller if you know how to use it. One cinematic element that filmmakers have used to "speak" to audiences is lighting. Ever since the dawn of cinema, filmmakers and cinematographers have added to the cinematic lexicon of light to help viewers understand and enjoy films on a deeper, sometimes subconscious, level.
Lets play with the blender's node editor to create realistic water puddles. In this lecture i'll be using NOISE Textures to create puddles. If you are not familiar with that, you can find the Noise texture tutorial in the workshop section.
In this lecture we will uncover the procedural material creation workflow. We will create a marble material without using any image textures.
This is the last module of this course. In this module your task is to Create a Cinematic horror/thriller interior Night scene in blender.
Just download the Metro Starter kit and start move to the assignment section. Totally there are 5 assignment in this module. Complete one after the other.
If face any problem recall our methodologies that we have used to complete the cinematic exterior scene and vfx project. If you are still not sure that how to approach the assignment, feel free to watch the tutorial video under instructor's example tab.
Good luck!
Agile approach Checklist. Lets push blender's interface into our muscle memory
Lighting is fundamental in any 3D art project you work on. At the most basic level, it’s a way of making objects visible. But cinematographers will tell you how lighting is much more.
In this lecture you will be introduced to one of the very important feature in blender THE MODIFIERS.
Sometimes we might need to use multiple modifiers for a same object. Say we might need to add some extra subdivision and also a mirror modifier to the same object. If we wanna use multiple modifiers we must be very careful about their stack order. Since it affects the final result. Modifiers are calculated from top to bottom in the stack.
In this lecture we ill model a 3d lamp using reference image in blender. By doing so we will get familiar with blender's modelling tools and procedures and also we will become comfortable with the blender's Interface.
Rendering or image synthesis is the automatic process of generating a photo-realistic or non-photo-realistic image from a 2D or 3D model. Lets uncover rendering procedures and also its uses.
This is the final lecture of Create-a-lamp tutorial. In this lecture you will learn how to setup a background, how to add create materials for shades (blinds), lamp base(glossy diffuse) and we will uncover some cool lighting procedures to lit up the scene. Finally we will render this scene.
An HDRI Sky (High Dynamic Range Image) in the context of Architectural Visualization is 360 Spherical Sky photograph that was taken to cover the entire field of vision and contains significantly more lighting information in it that is ideal for emitting light inside a computer-generated scene.
The Noise Texture is used to add procedural Perlin noise texture, similar to the Clouds texture in Blender Internal. You will understand the how to use noise texture and when to use noise textures in blender.
In this lecture we will create a basic car-paint material in blender. By doing so we will uncover the use of diffuse material, Glossy material, Fresnel, mix shaders and Fac node sin blender.
Texture mapping originally referred to a method (now more accurately called diffuse mapping) that simply wrapped and mapped pixels from a texture to a 3D surface. In recent decades the advent of multi-pass rendering and complex mapping such as height mapping, bump mapping, normal mapping, displacement mapping, reflection mapping, specular mapping, mipmaps, occlusion mapping, and many other variations on the technique (controlled by a materials system) have made it possible to simulate near-photorealism in real time by vastly reducing the number of polygons and lighting calculations needed to construct a realistic and functional 3D scene.
Some times we might need to import assets from a third party. One such frequently imported asset into blender is Third-party node setups. So lets learn how to import a third party asset in the right way and how to use them inside our blender scene.
In this lecture we will learn the basics of animation Timing and Spacing (in reality these are the advanced topics too). Lets create a simple animation in blender by doing so you will learn about timelines, fps, in-betweens, blocking (key-frames). We will apply the concept of timing and spacing while animating, since that is the primary factor which differentiates a good animation from a bad animation.
We all are here only because of one reason "WE ALL ARE INSPIRED BY SAME ELEMENTS AROUND US (Feature films and games)". So why don't we learn by creating what inspired us!?!
Motive
Never waste you time and The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
I care for my students. So I've structured this course in such a way that you will experience almost all the feature of a master class, learning by doing, and also the googling way of learning. Most courses do not show you the practical skills and real world examples.
This course has been specifically designed with you in mind and I've developed a system to allow you to learn just what you need to know, only when you need it.
One of the best part of this course is that you won't waste time in learning tools and functions inside of blender that you will never use.
Course Structure:
Blender Workshop
10+ blender essentials and must know tutorials
Blender Project: Cinematic-car commercial exterior scene project
Cinematics and Story telling [Camera movements, angles, animations, setting up the tempo and beat]
Blender VFX mini-project: Forest-Highway racing car VFX project
Blender VFX mega-Project: Zombie vs Cyborg-Cinematic scene VFX project
Blender Assignment: Metro-Thriller crime interior night scene project
+ Bonus Lectures
How this course is unique from others?
This is course is structured in such a way that it promotes procedural way of learning and also quick "How to " solution based tutorials. I have curated this course in such a way that you learn only the essentials and must knows of blender.
The course is project-based, so you will applying your new skills to give life to your visuals.
By the end of this course you will be able to give life to your visuals.
This course also covers some important areas like
Storytelling, [Bonus]
Working with motion captured animations, [Bonus]
Best ways to present a rendered scene, [Bonus]
Workflow tips, [Bonus]
Convey the mood of the scene and create appealing scenes through brilliant lighting techniques and camera angles [Bonus]
I'll be adding new lecture once every month. I'm always here to solve your doubts. Never waste you time and The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
