
Introduction to the course
This video will teach you in simple and easy step by step how to make your own pen from bamboo or reed stick in order to write in the Maghribi Mabsut style.
You will learn the first letter in Arabic which is the Alif. Starting from the top to the bottom in a straight line.
Practice sheet for the Maghribi Mabsut (fine) size. Use 1.5 to 2mm pen nib size. You may also practice using a fountain pen.
You print and write on the same paper or you can use tracing paper.
After completing this video you will be able to write the letter Ba ب
The Ba starts from right to left, then goes upwards to make a small arc at the end.
The letter Ra is similar to and arc, it starts from the base line going down clockwise to make a quarter of a circle.
The body of letter Sad is written on the base line then the second part goes below clock wise to form a half circle stoping at the base line.
In this course I will demonstrate how to write Arabic calligraphy using the Maghribi Mabsut script step by step using the traditional method using basic material such as bamboo or reed pen, paper and ink. I will also provide you with a step by step handout pdf file for Arabic letters to supplement the video demonstrations.
In each unit you will learn how to write the correct proportions and scales of one Arabic letter by using traditional methods.
At the end will write all the Arabic letters and other words.
