Steve has been a founder or participant in eight Silicon Valley startups since 1978. His last company, E.piphany, started in his living room. His other startups include two semiconductor companies (Zilog and MIPS Computers), a workstation company (Convergent Technologies), a supercomputer firm (Ardent), a computer peripheral supplier (SuperMac), a military intelligence systems supplier (ESL) and a video game company (Rocket Science Games).
Steve is on the board of CafePress.com, an on-line marketplace, and IMVU, a 3D IM social network.
Steve was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Coastal Commission and is the Chairman of Audubon California and on the board of the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST.)
His Google Tech talk, "The Secret History of Silicon Valley" (available on YouTube) is one of the definitive views on the early history of innovation in Silicon Valley.
Steve teaches entrepreneurship and a methodology of managing marketing, sales and business development in high technology startups. His course text "Four Steps to the Epiphany" is the definitive work on Customer Development and is one of the foundations of Lean Startups.

Eric Ries is the creator of the Lean Startup methodology and the author of the popular entrepreneurship blog Startup Lessons Learned. He previously co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer of IMVU. In 2007, BusinessWeek named Ries one of the Best Young Entrepreneurs of Tech and in 2009 he was honored with a TechFellow award in the category of Engineering Leadership. He serves on the advisory board of a number of technology startups, and has worked as a consultant to a number of startups, companies, and venture capital firms. In 2010, he became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School.
He is the co-author of several books including The Black Art of Java Game Programming (Waite Group Press, 1996). While an undergraduate at Yale University, he co-founded Catalyst Recruiting. Although Catalyst folded with the dot-com crash, Ries continued his entrepreneurial career as a Senior Software Engineer at There, leading efforts in agile software development and user-generated content.

Janice Fraser
Janice Fraser is a serial entrepreneur and a globally recognized expert on the management practices needed to support innovation at scale. Her clients have included the Obama White House, Proctor & Gamble, Lyft, and the Navy Seals Training Command. Frasier currently serves as SVP at Bionic, where she installs entrepreneurship and venture capital as forms of growth management in Fortune 100 companies, which enables them to launch new billion-dollar businesses.
Previously, Fraser was Director of Innovation and Transformation at Pivotal. For 16 years before that, Janice started half a dozen companies with a variety of outcomes — both exits and flat-out shutdowns. Among them, Janice was founder/CEO of Luxr, an early Lean Startup firm (sold to Pivotal), and Adaptive Path, the world’s first UX firm (sold to Capital One).

She personally worked with more than 50 companies in a 10-week product acceleration program. I have been an entrepreneur for more than a decade, and throughout that time I have been in search of a better, faster way for building successful products.
Then I ran into early works on Customer Development and Lean Startup pioneered by Steve Blank and Eric Ries. I joined in on the conversation and have been rigorously applying and testing these principles since then. I started sharing my learning on this blog, which then turned into a book, and subsequently into a series of products aimed at helping entrepreneurs raise their odds of success.
That is my mission and reason for being.
