Description

Welcome to our Latin course! Don't let the title fool you: this course is not a quick and superficial presentation of the Latin language, but rather a modern, comprehensive - and even, as far as possible, fun - course designed to give you a good knowledge of the language, both in theory and in practice. In this course, you will learn the most important points of the morphology and syntax of the Latin language, working with vocabulary chosen from the most frequently used words in the Latin texts of the most important authors of all eras. We use a modern and dynamic approach, alternating theoretical and practical lessons that focus on the ability to communicate in the Latin language. For example, in relation to nominal declension and verbal conjugation, we teach how endings are formed, the reason and function of each suffix and ending, so that you can actually understand how words are inflected, instead of simply doing that old and boring math of declension tables. And, just as you would when learning modern languages, you will find many communication exercises, where you will build sentences in Latin, always with adequately detailed explanations about the entire process - that is, instead of simply doing syntactic analysis, you will also learn how to say and understand things in Latin. Whatever your reason for dedicating yourself to studying the Latin language, you will find here a course designed with the aim of awakening in you a taste for this fantastic language that, despite being over two thousand years old, is still so relevant in many areas of knowledge today.

Obs.: Este curso é a versão em inglês do curso "Latim para a Universidade". O conteúdo, a metodologia e os exercícios são exatamente os mesmos.
