    This lesson will be a brief introduction to the whole course.

  • Introduction - What is a method?7:27

    This lecture is about understanding what a method is and about techniques. You will be able to define the important, specific terminology related to methods, as well as understanding what factors help determine an appropriate method.

  • Introduction - Preference, philosophy and theories of learning9:25

    This lecture is about understanding personal preference towards your teaching philosophy (the way you envision teaching and learning) and the theories of learning.

    You will be able to understand the different theories of learning and will be assisted to help you understand your teaching philosophy (if you are not sure of it yet).

  • Introduction - Educational Objectives and selecting an appropriate method18:04

    This lecture is to make you aware of your educational objectives and give guidance of selecting the most appropriate teaching method for your context (and working internationally).

    You will learn about the different educational objectives and how to best choose the methods you want and will get answers to some common questions, with regards to selecting and implementing teaching methods.

Description

This course will provide you with all the information you will need when deciding on teaching methods to use in your language setting - such as the aims, background, principles, lesson plan ideas, advantages and disadvantages and activities for each method.


This course will also briefly focus on your educational objectives, learning theories and what the teaching terms such as 'method' actually mean in context.

As I have specialised in TEFL / ESL (English as a Second Language), my examples are in English, but you can use the examples and lesson plan ideas when teaching other foreign languages.
