There are infinite ways to tune the kora actually...
But there are only two ways of tuning the kora that will help you start with playing:
Sauta (C major)
Silaba (F major)
Don't freak out if you don't have any knowledge about music theory, it is actually very easy.
Take the pdf called kora, print it or have it in front of you, download a tuner app (for example Soundcorset) on your phone, or go on the web (https://www.musicca.com/tuner), or just use a tuner, and tune the notes according to the chart in C major (sauta).
I demonstrate in the video how it sounds in case you are hesitating.

The kora is a 21 strings traditional harp from West Africa, originally only played for kings and noble families..

In this course, you will learn the kora from scratch, and even if you have never played any instrument this course is for you!
It will gove you the tools to start even if you don' thave a teacher, and it will give you the confidence to start looking for other kora players and start exchanging.

You will have to be patient though, and do the exercises with care and focus.
I have developped a step by step procedure to ease your way into the world of playing the kora, so that you enjoy the process and are not discouraged by the complexity of the instrument.
