  • Basic Course Introduction2:21

    - This lecture will introduce the designer himself and his skills. He works as a graphic designer, a typographer, and a university lecturer.

    - This lecture will also introduce briefly the online course of the Kelk. The students will learn in this lecture the different versions of the Kelk program since the year 2000 and up until the year 2020.

  • What Does KELK Do?3:35

    - In this lecture, students will know the answer of the question: "What Does Kelk do?"

    - They will know that Kelk is mainly a calligraphy software and it is used for producing calligraphic artistic works and pieces in different languages such as Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Kurdish, and other languages that use Arabic alphabet.

    - Moreover, the lecture will show that the Kelk program employs the most famous calligraphic fonts or scripts in the calligraphy world such as the Thuluth script or font style, the Persian scripts such as Nastaleeq (Nastaligh or Nastaliq), Tahriri, Shakestah, and the Ottoman Diwani or Divani script, and other scripts including the Lahori, the Riqa'a, and the Naskh.

    - The lecture will also discuss the different types of the calligraphic works that Kelk program can produce such as:

    ----- Producing holy verses and words in the Holy Qur'an.

    ----- Producing prophetic traditions or Hadith for different prophets such as Prophet "Muhammad" 'peace be upon him'.

    ----- Producing proverbs and maxims.

    ----- Producing poetic verses or rhymes.

    ----- Producing names and titles.

    ----- Producing other calligraphic logos.

    ----- Producing any other calligraphic artistic works.

  • Main Tools in Toolboxes of the KELK Program4:12

    - This lecture will discuss briefly the main tools exist in Kelk toolbox and used in Kelk program in general.

    - This lecture will show that there are two main types of the Kelk toolboxes which are changed automatically by the program itself when selecting the calligraphic script of font.

    - The lecture will describe briefly the function and usage of every tool in the Kelk two toolbokex.

We will together select, will join, will elongate horizontally, and elongate vertically the letters of the calligraphic designs and texts. We will work also with Kashidah and will manipulate the ends of the words using the renowned Thuluth script. You will know about the different famous calligraphic scripts (e.g., Arabic, Persian, and Urdu scripts) included in the program such as the Thuluth script, the Divani with its two types Jali and Khafi, Naskh, Riqa’a, Nastaleeq, Lahori, and other calligraphic scripts.

Defaults of the Kelk, different types of Guidelines, and how to export and print your final calligraphic file will be also explained in the course. Using these amazing skills, you will be able to make circular and para-circular calligraphic works, vertical and horizontal, mirrored, and sophisticated artistic works and of course your own calligraphic tughra. In addition, you will learn more simple retouching skills using the Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator with no need for a deep experience in these both applications. Moreover, you would not be complete as a Kelk user without the genuine ability in making sophisticated calligraphic works that we will learn in this course.

As an essential part of the "Kelk: Essentials Training Course", you will learn the four main steps required in designing every calligraphic artistic work and practice them yourself.

Before the end of the course, you will have the ability to design a sophisticated calligraphic work such as the difficult very long calligraphic work.

In this course, I supply exercise files, so you can practice as much as you want. I will also save my Kelk files as I go through many videos so that you can compose yours and compare them to mine and modify any wrong design that you might have.
