Instructor
My first career involved working as a professional geologist for 10+ years after receiving a MS in Geology from Lehigh University in 1976.
After getting my first “386” PC over 20 years ago, my strong personal interest and desire for understanding led to my vast knowledge of software including DOS, Word Perfect, and Lotus and then Windows and MS Office. Coupled with my passion for teaching, I taught computer applications (DOS, Word Perfect, Lotus, Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) at a local community college from 1994 -1996 and started my own business, PC Applications (computer training and consulting) in 1995. I have been providing Windows and MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher) training and consulting services to individuals, small businesses, corporations, and town, city, and county governments ever since.
Although I teach and consult all of the Office applications at all levels, I have particular expertise with Excel and Access. My strong math and analytical skills have allowed me to understand the nature of relational database design, VBA programming, and overall concepts of data analysis and Database Administration. I have designed many applications using MS Access; interfaced Access with data systems for analytical/reporting purposes, especially Excel. My strengths are being able to assimilate information, understand a problem, and come up with a solution using software applications.
